Um bei Kohlenstaubfeuerungen eine gleichmässige Flammenentwicklung sowie die Erzeugung von Dampfhöchstmengen unter höchst erreichbarem Wirkungsgrad und unter vollkommenster Ausnutzung des Baustoffes der Feuerungskammer zu erzielen, soll gemäss der Erfindung der Feuerraum so bemessen sein, dass sein Rauminhalt in den einzelnen Querschnitten entsprechend oder annähernd entsprechend der Zu-und Abnahme des Rauminhaltes der Gase im Feuerraum zu-und abnimmt, welche ihrerseits im wesentlichen abhängig ist von der annähernd vorausbestimmbaren Verbrennungstemperatur der Gase in den einzelnen Zonen des Feuerraumes.
Bei einer derartigen Gestaltung des Feuerraumes wird jeglicher Stau und Wirbelbildung in der Flammenführung und deren Rückwirkung auf die Flammenbildung sowie Störungen in der Zündung verhütet und damit auch eine grösstmögliche Schonung des Kesselmauerwerks erzielt.
Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht eine nach diesen Gedanken gestaltete Kohlenstaubfeuerung als ein Ausführungsbeispiel im Schnitt.
