Hardening can be ground or polished. As a result of the hardness and great adhesion of the intermediate layer give solid metals of all kinds on the same, e.g. B. brass, copper, silver, nickel silver, white metals, iron, etc., even steel, by rubbing or brushing with metal brushes metal dust in the finest form, which is firmly anchored in the fine pores of the intermediate layer.
In the same way, pure metal powder of all kinds can be mixed with water or an aqueous solution of suitable binders, such as. B. casein glue, resin emulsion, water glass, etc., spray with spray guns or with short-haired brush, rag, etc., firmly rub on the intermediate layer. The metallic coatings formed in this way can be polished to a high gloss and, like many other polished metals, are then protected in the usual way by a thin, colorless lacquer coating against oxidation and other external influences. If the intermediate layer, which can be produced in all colors, is plastically patterned, very beautiful decorative effects can be achieved by metallizing only the raised parts.
Very beautiful effects can also be achieved if the intermediate layer is only partially, e.g. B. od after strips. Like., Metallized. The water resistance of the intermediate layer can be further increased by impregnation with suitable solutions of e.g. B. acetic clay, alum, etc. can be increased. The intermediate layer can be made of different colors, smooth or roughly plastic and other colored bodies can also be applied to the intermediate layer with only partial rubbing of metal parts. The intermediate layer can be stained so that imitations of leather or wood can also be produced by the same.
An example of a cementitious mass and its production for an intermediate layer is explained below: 40 parts by weight of silica, 5 parts by weight of manganese dioxide, 40 parts by weight of limestone, 15 parts by weight of cement or hydrated lime are mixed together and finely ground or individually pulverized and then mixed well. A rubber-like solution is produced from casein, borax and water in a known manner and about the same amount of resin emulsion is added to it and this solution is added
EMI2.1
Can dilute water and apply it to the underlay with a brush or spray gun, etc.
The whole process is particularly suitable for covering walls, ceilings, stairwells, pillars etc. as well as all kinds of everyday objects, suitcases, picture frames, boxes, and also for ornaments in churches, altars, state rooms, cinemas, theaters etc.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of metallic coatings on underlay materials of all types, characterized in that a mixture of cement or cement-like mass, such as. B. a mixture of silica, brownstone, limestone, cement or hydrated lime optionally mixed with ground minerals or glass, porcelain, slag or the like. As well as with dyes, binders, such as. B. Caseine glue, resin emulsion, water glass, etc. and water is applied, which after drying is water-insoluble and so hard that by subsequent rubbing of metals with metal rods, metal brushes or the like.
Metal in the finest form is applied to the areas of the intermediate layer processed therewith, whereupon the thin metallic coating thus formed is applied under pressure, e.g. B. od with polishing stone, polishing steel. Like. Polished and protected in the usual way by colorless paint coating against oxidation and other influences.
