which contains the dissolved gas is applied at a pressure of about 7 kg / cm to a short stretch of the passing tissue, whereby all pressure reduction and foaming takes place within a short stretch of the passing tissue and the foam deposited on the tissue is freshly formed . When the gas expands from about 7 kg / cm2 to about atmospheric pressure, the gas causes a cooling, whereby the temperature of the deposited foam is measurably lower than that of the pressurized resin.

Particular attention is paid to the fact that the layer structure, which contains the two layers of cotton fabric and a core of polyurethane resin foam in between, is brought directly from a calibration zone into a thickness adjustment zone and the thickness of the layer structure is brought to polymerisation during heating of the resin and hardening of the layer structure is kept at the predetermined value.

As soon as the polymerization of the polyurethane has progressed to such an extent that further expansion and / or collapse of the foam is unlikely, the layer structure can be subjected to further curing treatments without having to be held together with rollers or tapes. The viscosity of the resin used to make the foam is sufficiently high that the resin foam does not easily penetrate the thickness of the fabric, but is firmly bonded to the fabric during polymerization and curing.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for producing a foam-coated textile fabric web by applying a foamable mixture of reactive components of a polymer in the liquid phase to the textile fabric web. this mixture reacts and forms a foam, whereupon, by heating, the foamed mixture hardens to form a firmly bound to the tissue
 EMI2.1
Mixture of the synthetic resin components is dissolved and the mixture obtained in this way is exposed to atmospheric pressure, the gas being expanded and a mixture containing gas bubbles being formed which is applied to the textile web before the polymerization reaction takes place.
