   Um zu verhindern, dass bei normalem Zug des Ofens frische Luft durch den Kanal 7 in den Schacht 5 eintrete, empfiehlt es sich, den Kanal 7 durch Ventile 17 abzuschliessen, welche derart eingerichtet, etwa durch Gewichte   18 u,   dgl. ausbalanciert sind, dass sie sich bei geringem inneren Luftdruck nach aussen öffnen und die Heizgase austreten lassen, während sie bei ungestörtem Betriebe des Ofens durch die   Wirkung   der Gewichte 18 den Kanal 7 abschliessen. Es empfiehlt sich ferner, diese Ventile 17 am unteren Ende des Kanales 7 anzuordnen und ihnen, da dieser Kanal eine ringförmige Gestalt hat, geringe Breite zu geben, dafür aber eine Anzahl derartiger Ventile nebeneinander anzuordnen.
