  Chrome tanning process.
 EMI1.1
of mono- or doubly sulphurous soda with neutral or even basic alumina salts, e.g. B. Alumina must be replaced. This results in the phenomenon not to be expected from the outset that, in the presence of alumina salts, the reduction of chromic acid can be carried out with mono- or doubly sulphurous soda without further addition of an acid; the excretion of alumina hydrate or a complex basic alumina chromium oxide! zes in the nakedness takes place in a similar way, as it is described in the parent patent.

The equations of reaction according to which the reduction of the chromic acid results are as follows:
 EMI1.2
If a mixture of mono- and doubly sulphurous sodium bicarbonate is used, the composition of the complex basic salt excreted can vary accordingly.
