  Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Quecksilber aus Erzen oder anderen Rohstoffen. 



   Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Quecksilber aus Erzen oder anderen Rohstoffen und betrifft Verbesserungen hinsichtlich der Gewinnungskosten und der Ausbeute. 



   Wenn Erze usw., welche Quecksilbersulfid enthalten, mit einer Schwefelalkali und Alkalihydrat enthaltenden Lösung behandelt werden, wird die Quecksilberverbindung aus dem Erz herausgelöst ; vorzugsweise besteht das Lösungsmittel aus Schwefelnatrium und Ätznatron. 



   Die auf diese Weise gewonnene quecksilberhaltige Lösung wird gemäss der Erfindung mit Aluminium oder Chrom versetzt, wodurch die in Lösung enthaltene Quecksilberverbindung als Quecksilbermetall in fein verteiltem Zustande ausgefällt wird, während das zur   Ausfällung   benutzte Metall in Lösung geht. 



   Eine vorzugsweise Ausführungsart der Ausfällung von Quecksilber aus der Lösung besteht darin, dass man das Ausfällungsmetall in fein verteiltem Zustande hinzufügt und das Gemenge starkem Umrühren aussetzt. 



   Das ausgefällte Quecksilberpulver wird gerieben, um die sehr gering bemessenen Teilchen in innige Berührung miteinander zu bringen und das Metall in den flüssigen Zustand überzuführen. 



  Das Raffinieren für die Handelsware erfolgt mittels Durchseihens durch ein Gewebe-oder Gemslederseihtuch. Der chemische Vorgang des Verfahrens besteht darin, dass beim Zusatz von Aluminium oder Chrom zu einer alkalisulfid-und alkalihydrathältigen, das Quecksilber in Gestalt von Schwefelquecksilber enthaltenden Lösung der an das Quecksilber gebundene Schwefel in Verbindung mit Alkali tritt und Schwefelalkali entstehen lässt, wodurch der Gehalt des Lösungsmittels an Schwefelalkali gesteigert wird.    The precipitated mercury powder is rubbed in order to bring the very small particles into intimate contact with one another and to convert the metal into the liquid state.
