Schutzkappe fnr Schraubengewinde.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Neuerung an Schutzkappe für Schraubengewinde. Die Schutzkappe nach der Erfindung ist dazu bestimmt, das Gewinde gegen Einrosten zu schützen. Ein solches Einrosten der Schrauben findet sehr häufig bei Glasdächern statt. Es wurde bereits, um dies zu vermeiden, die Schraube und die Mutter aus Messing hergestellt. Jedoch auch dieses Material war nicht geeignet, denn es wurde bei kurzem Gebrauch brüchig, so dass bei eventuellem Abnehmen der Glasleiste ein Bruch erfolgte. Verwendete man verzinkte Eisenschrauben, so rosteten diese sehr rasch. Ebenso war das volle Ziel nicht erreicht, wenn man Eisenschrauben mit Messingmuttern verwendete.
Durch die Schutzkappe nach der Erfindung wird dieser Übelstand vollkommen beseitigt, indem sowohl das Gewinde als auch die Mutter vollkommen abgeschlossen und gegen Witterungseinflüsse vollkommen geschützt werden.
In der Zeichnung ist der Querschnitt einer Verglasungsleiste dargestellt, bei der die Schutzkappe verwendet ist.
Über die aus der Mutter allerausragende Schraube b wird eine aus Eisen, Messing, Blei oder anderem Material bestehende Kappe c aufgesetzt. Diese Kappe ist beim Aufsetzen auf das Gewinde der Schraube innen vollkommen glatt. Dieselbe wird gegen das Abheben in der Weise geschützt, dass mit einer mit Gewinde versehenen Zange die inneren glatten Wände in das Gewinde der Schraube b gepresst werden, so dass nur durch grössere Gewalt oder durch Abschrauben die Kappe c entfernt werden kann. Die Kappe kann eventuell auch an die kantigen Flächen der Mutter a mittels der Zange angepresst und vorher mit einem Rostschutzmittel oder Fett angefüllt werden.

The invention relates to an innovation in the protective cap for screw threads. The protective cap according to the invention is intended to protect the thread against rusting. This kind of rusting of the screws takes place very often on glass roofs. In order to avoid this, the screw and nut have already been made of brass. However, this material was also unsuitable because it became brittle after a short period of use, so that it would break if the glass bead was removed. If galvanized iron screws were used, they rusted very quickly. Likewise, using iron screws with brass nuts did not achieve the full goal.
The protective cap according to the invention completely eliminates this disadvantage in that both the thread and the nut are completely closed and completely protected against the effects of the weather.

A cap c made of iron, brass, lead or other material is placed over the screw b protruding from the nut. This cap is completely smooth on the inside when it is placed on the thread of the screw. This is protected against lifting in such a way that the inner smooth walls are pressed into the thread of the screw b with a pair of threaded pliers, so that the cap c can only be removed by greater force or by unscrewing. The cap can possibly also be pressed against the angular surfaces of the nut a by means of the pliers and previously filled with an anti-rust agent or grease.
