Abstract
A hydraulic cylinder for a standard force measuring machine has a rotatably mounted cylinder ring (9) which is connected for drive purposes to a rotary drive (15) and has two elastically deformable sealing rings (10, 12). The first sealing ring (10) bears sealingly against a working piston (8) projecting into the cylinder ring (9); the second sealing ring (12) bears sealingly against a guide piston (11) projecting in an opposing fashion into the cylinder ring (9). The use of elastically deformable sealing rings (10, 12) avoids a sealing gap which would lead to a change in the effective piston area and to flow forces in the axial direction. Because of the rotary motion of the cylinder ring (9), the friction forces occurring on the sealing rings (10, 12) extend only in the circumferential direction and have no effect on the axial force. <IMAGE>
