Abstract

The invention concerns a strip winder comprising at least one pressure roller (2) which can be set against a winder mandrel (1) by means of an adjusting device (6) in order to press strip-form winding material (9) against the winding mandrel (1). To this end, the pressure roller (2) is mounted such that it can rotate on a mounting arm (3) and move relative to the winding mandrel (1) in an approximately radial direction. The mounting arm (3) can be moved towards and pressed against the winding mandrel (1) by means of the adjusting device (6). As the beginning of the strip (14) approaches, the pressure roller (2) can be moved by at least the strip thickness (16) away from the winding mandrel (1) by means of an adjusting device (12) controlled by a control device (15). In order to be able to carry out "step control" easily and with simple means, the pressure roller (2), in known manner, is movable relative to the mounting arm (3) by means of a further adjusting device (12) connected to the control device (15) which causes the pressure roller (2) to move away from the winding mandrel (1) as the beginning of the strip (14) approaches.
