Abstract

The track construction has a carrier layer (1) with a planar surface (2) supporting the rail sleepers (3) and the rails (4). It is anchored via anchorages (24) embedded in the carrier layer, to allow vertical movement but prevent horizontal movement. Spring elements act as point mountings (6) beneath the sleeper along the axis of each rail. Accurate height positioning of the mountings is via a plastics mortar joint (9) between the mounting and the carrier layer.
