Abstract

The invention relates to a device for removing particles from a fluid, containing a housing with a cylindrical inner wall, said housing comprising a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. At least one magnet, which is arranged in a pipe, is disposed in the housing and the at least one magnet can be at least partially withdrawn from the pipe by means of an adjusting device. The housing comprises an upper area wherein the fluid inlet is arranged in such a manner that the fluid impinges upon the cylindrical inner wall of the housing, in an essentially tangential manner, and forms a spiral-shaped current, which is orientated downwards, in the direction of a lower area of the housing. The fluid flows past at least several times the same at least one pipe comprising a magnet which is arranged therein.
