Abstract
Tandpasta daardoor gekenmerkt dat het ÚÚn of meer substanties bevat met muggenwerend effect.
Description
Tandpasta en nieuw gebruik van tandpasta als therapeutisch middel.
Deze uitvinding heeft betrekking op een tandpasta en op een nieuw gebruik van tandpasta als therapeutisch middel.
Het gebruik van tandpasta met als doel de mondhygiëne te verzorgen en tandplak en cariës te voorkomen, is algemeen bekend.
Gebruikelijke tandpasta's bevatten vaak substanties met verfrissende smaak en geur.
In tegenstelling tot deze bekende tandpasta's, betreft de huidige uitvinding een tandpasta die één of meer substanties bevat met muggenwerend effect.
Het muggenwerend effect wordt bij voorkeur bekomen door de aromatische werking van de toegevoegde substantie of substanties.
De substantie kan bijvoorbeeld citroenaroma's verspreiden, of aroma's die hoofdzakelijk overstemmen met de aroma's zoals afkomstig van lavendel, kruidnagel, geranium, gekneusde vlierbladeren, citronella, citroenmelisse, citroengeranium, zogenaamde "tea tree", ceder of eucalyptus.
Een belangrijk voordeel dat bekomen wordt door het voorzien van zulke substantie in een tandpasta is dat het betreffende aroma wordt verspreid in de onmiddellijke omgeving van de persoon die bescherming tegen muggen beoogt.
Een bijkomend en onverwacht voordeel bestaat erin dat de geuren die de persoon in kwestie verspreidt door zijn ademhaling,, ten minste gedeeltelijk geneutraliseerd worden. Dit blijkt bijzonder effectief te werken en uit proeven blijkt inderdaad dat precies de geuren die door de ademhaling verspreid worden in sterke mate instaan voor de aantrekking van muggen.
Inderdaad, muggen zijn onder andere aangetrokken door melkzuur, ammonium, vetzuur en in het bijzonder ook door kooldioxide die we allen uitademen.
Door een tandpasta volgens de uitvinding te gebruiken, wordt bekomen dat de geuren die de muggen aantrekken van bij de bron ten minste gedeeltelijk geneutraliseerd worden.
De uitvinding betreft tevens een nieuw gebruik van tandpasta als therapeutisch middel ter voorkoming van muggenbeten.
Hierdoor worden besmettingen met kwalijke ziektes zoals malaria voorkomen. Daardoor wordt als direct gevolg ook de verspreiding van deze ziektes teruggedrongen.
Met het inzicht de kenmerken van de uitvinding beter aan te tonen, is hierna als voorbeeld zonder enig beperkend karakter een voorkeurdragende samenstelling van een tandpasta beschreven.
Een tandpasta volgens de uitvinding omvat bij voorkeur schuur- en polijstmiddelen, humectantia om de uitdroging van de pasta te voorkomen, detergentia, een bindmiddel, smaak- en zoetstoffen, conserveringsmiddelen, kleurstoffen, water en één of meer substanties met muggenwerend effect.
Het is duidelijk dat een tandpasta volgens de uitvinding niet al de voornoemde substanties dient te bevatten, en dat anderzijds *zulk een tandpasta volgens de uitvinding ook andere stoffen kan bevatten met een ander therapeutisch en/of esthetisch doeleinde.
Zo is het mogelijk fluor toe te voegen met als doel de tanden te versterken en/of zuurbestendig te maken, of minerale zouten toe te voegen ter versterking van het tandvlees.
Door toevoeging van een of ander antisepticum of antibacteriële agens, zoals chloorhexidinedigluconaat of triclosan, wordt een anti-bacteriële tandpasta bekomen die gepast is bij gingivitis en parodontitis.
Bacterieremmende stoffen of enzymen kunnen voorzien worden als therapeutisch middel tegen tandplak.
Werkzame stoffen tegen tandsteen betreffen bijvoorbeeld pyrofosfaten of citraden.
Door toevoeging van strontiumchloride, kaliumnitraat of formaldehyde worden blootliggende dentinetubuli of dentinekanaaltjes afgestopt als behandeling tegen gevoelige tanden.
Natriumbicarbonaat heeft een blekende werking, terwijl natriumlaurylsulfaat kan worden toegevoegd als middel tegen aften.
De huidige uitvinding is geenszins beperkt tot de hiervoor beschreven uitvoeringsvorm, doch, dergelijke nieuwe tandpasta kan in verschillende varianten worden verwezenlijkt zonder buiten het kader van de uitvinding te treden.
Claims (6)
1. Tandpasta daardoor gekenmerkt dat het één of meer substanties bevat met muggenwerend effect.
2. Tandpasta volgens conclusie 1, daardoor gekenmerkt dat de substantie of substanties met muggenwerend effect een aromatische werking hebben.
3. Tandpasta volgens conclusie 1, daardoor gekenmerkt dat de substantie of substanties met muggenwerend effect aroma's verspreiden die de geur van melkzuur, ammonium, vetzuur en/of kooldioxide neutraliseren, onderdrukken of maskeren.
4. Tandpasta volgens conclusie 1, daardoor gekenmerkt dat de substantie of substanties met muggenwerend effect citroenaroma's verspreiden.
5. Tandpasta volgens conclusie 1, daardoor gekenmerkt dat de substantie of substanties met muggenwerend effect aroma's verspreiden die hoofdzakelijk overstemmen met één of meer van de aroma's zoals afkomstig van lavendel, kruidnagel, geranium, gekneusde vlierbladeren, citronella, citroenmelisse, citroengeranium, zogenaamde "tea tree", ceder of eucalyptus.
6. Gebruik van tandpasta als therapeutisch middel, daardoor gekenmerkt dat het wordt aangewend ter voorkoming van muggenbeten en daardoor besmettingen en verspreiding van ziektes voorkomt.
