Abstract

MACHINE FOR PRESSURE CONTACT SEAM WELDING

Abstract Disclosure is made of a machine for pressure contact seam welding, comprising a table carrying a work-piece and electrodes positioned opposite each other and electrically connected to each other. At least one electrodes is mounted so that it can be brought closer to the other electrode in order to produce an ela stic static force in the welding zone. The machine comprises a slideway to forcibly keep the welded material in the zone of contact with the workpiece and the electrodes, a real of the welded material, a pitch feed mechanism to deliver the welded material from the real to the zone where it is gripped toge-ther with the workpiece by the electrodes, and a device for separation of the required length of the welded material.
This device for separation of a required length of the welded material comprises, according to the invention, a mecha-nism for stopping the delivery of the welded material after it is welded to the workpiece, which is controlled by a welding end pickup and, as a result, the welded material is torn away in the zone of contact of this material with the workpiece and the electrodes.

One of the embodiments of the device for separation of a required length of the welded material is a mechanism for stopping the delivery of the welded material, which is a clamp comprising a housing having a through opening for pas-sage of the welded ma-terial and an accentric, which pivot axis is secured on the part of the housing located under the welded material and which is rotated by an electromag-net electrically connected to a welding end pickup.
This permits reliable and simple solution of the prob-lem of stopping the welded ma-terial at the required moment.
The welding end pickup can be made as a limit switch kinematically connected to the table carrying the workpiece.
Determination of the welding end by means of the limit switch is the most simple and practicable solution.
It is advisable that the kinematic connection of the limit switch and the table carrying the workpiece be made as cams placed on said table.
In order to simplify and rationalize the location of the mechanism for stopping the delivery of the welded ma-terial (as close to the zone of contact of the welded mate-rial with the workpiece and electrodes as possible) the ho-using can be the slideway for forcibly keeping the welded material in the zone of contact with the workpiece and ele-ctrodes.
The invention will now be described in greater detail with reference to a specific embodiment thereof, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
