Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de mouvement passif destiné à exercer les articulations d'un patient. Le dispositif comprend une partie en mousse souple ainsi qu'une enveloppe renfermant la partie en mousse à l'intérieur d'une chambre hermétique. Les articulations du patient sont maintenues dans une position donnée par rapport à la chambre hermétique au moyen d'un élément de retenue approprié. Une pompe à vide est reliée fonctionnellement à la chambre hermétique afin de permettre l'application et la non application sélective d'une pression réduite, c'est-à-dire inférieure à la pression atmosphérique, sur la chambre hermétique. L'application de la pression réduite provoque l'abaissement de la partie en mousse exerçant ainsi une force sur l'articulation, ce qui fait bouger ou s'incurver l'articulation à partir d'une position prédéterminée. La non-application de la pression réduite à la chambre hermétique provoque la dilatation de la partie en mousse, exerçant ainsi une force sur l'articulation ce qui fait bouger ou s'incurver l'articulation vers la position prédéterminée.
