  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Azofarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem  wertvollen     Umwandlungsprodukt    eines     Azo-          farbstoffes    dadurch gelangt, dass man den  durch Kuppeln der nitrierten     Diazoverbindung     der     1-Amino-2-ogynaphthalin-4-sulfosäure    mit       fl-Naphtol    erhältlichen     Mono-Azofarbstoff    in  alkalischem Medium mit     formaldehydsulfoxyl-          schwefelsaurem    Natrium behandelt.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>  248 Teile des durch Kuppeln der nitrier  ten     Diazoverbindung    der     1-Amino-2-oxynaph-          thalin-4-sulfonsäure    mit     ss-Naphtol    erhältlichen       Farbstoffes    werden alkalisch in 600 Teilen  Wasser gelöst und mit einer Lösung von der  theoretischen Menge des     formaldehydsulfoxyl-          schwefelsauren    Natriums bei 50 o C einige  Zeit verrührt. Zur Isolierung stellt man die  grünstickig blaue Lösung mit 10      /oiger    Essig  säure ganz schwach alkalisch und salzt den    entstandenen Farbstoff aus.

   Er zieht auf Wolle  in kupfervioletten Tönen, die durch     Nach-          chromieren    tiefschwarz werden.
