Description

Process for obtaining a timepiece dial with raised signs and dial obtained by this process. The present invention relates to a process for obtaining a timepiece dial with raised signs and to a dial obtained by this process.

The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example two embodiments of the process according to the invention.

The fi-. 1 and 2 illustrate the first form. The fi-. 3 illustrates a variant, and FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 illustrate the second form. The process illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 include the following operations: The raw dial plate 1 is placed between two stamps 2 and 3 exactly aligned with one another and having two openings 21 and 3a which are identical to each other and whose cross section has the same shape of the sign. By means of the punch 4, of the same shape, an opening 5 is cut through the entire thickness of the plate 1.

After which, and after having possibly completed the anterior face 1a of the plate, which will be done easily since it does not present any protrusion, a plate 6 is placed on the stamp 2 above the opening 2a ( fig. 2) of a material which may be the same as that of the dial plate or different, and by the punch 4 this material is inserted to constitute the sign first through the opening 2a then through the The opening 5 of the dial plate, so that this material protrudes the desired amount on the front surface 1a of this plate.

Instead of driving out, through the stamp 2 and the dial plate 1, a stamp of material without precise outline, one could drive directly, and by force, into the opening 5 a stamp of material having the exact shape of the sign, form that would have him. been given previously.

The sign could also be cut with a section such that it can be driven freely into the plate 1. For its attachment to the latter, we would then cause a slight expansion of the sign by subjecting it to pressures P and P1. , each applied to one of its ends (see fig. 3).

Figs. 4 and 5 relate to the second form of implementation, which comprises the following operations: 1 The dial plate 7 is placed (fig. 4) in a die 8 having a recess 9, and by means of the punch 10 it protrudes the material of the plate in the recess 9, which gives the blank according to FIG. 5.

2 By a pressure exerted on the front face 7a of the dial plate, the material of the projection is re-driven into the thickness of the plate.

3 The exterior face of Bette plate is finished by: grinding, polishing, oxidation, treatment with an electrolytic bath, etc .; this is easily done since this face is plain, without holes and especially without protrusions. 4 By means of the punch 4, the material which was there is cut completely out of the dial plate. been pushed back (see fig. 6 which shows the plate before expulsion), then we finish with the operation shown in fig. :
