Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines kobalthaltigen Azofarbstoffes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen, wertvollen, kobalthaltigen Azofarbstoff gelangt, wenn man auf den Vionoazofarbstoff der Formel

kobaltabgebende Mittel derart einwirken lässt, da.ss ein kobalthaltiger Azofarbstoff entsteht,
der zwei Monoazofarbstoffmoleküle an ein Kobaltatom komplex gebunden enthält.
Der neue Farbstoff bildet ein wasserlös liches Pulver, das Wolle aus neutralem bis essigsaurem Bade in violettgrauen Tönen färbt, welche sich durch gute Lichtechtheit und vorzügliche Wasch-, Walk- und Carboni- sierechtheit auszeichnen.
Der als Ausgangsstoff dienende, der oben stehenden Formel entsprechende Monoazo- farbstoff kann durch Kupplung des 1-Acetyl- amino-7-oxynaphthalins mit nach an sich be kannten Methoden, z. B. mittels Salzsäure und Natriumnitrit, diazotiertem 4-Nitro-2-amino-l- oxybenzol hergestellt werden.
Die Behandlung mit den kobaltabgebenden Mitteln erfolgt gemäss vorliegendem Verfah- ren in der Weise, dass ein kobalthaltiger Farb stoff entsteht, der pro Molekül Farbstoff, weniger als ein Atom Kobalt in komplexer Bindung enthält.
Demgemäss führt man die Metallisierung zweckmässig mit solchen kobält- abgebenden Mitteln und nach solchen Metho den durch, welche erfahrungsgemäss komplexe Kobaltverbindimgen dieser Zusammensetzung liefern.
Es@ empfiehlt sich im allgemeinen, auf ein Molekül eines Farbstoffes weniger als ein, mindestens aber 1/2 Atom Kobalt zu verwenden und/oder die Metallisierung in schwach saurem bis alkalischem Medium aus- zaführen. Als kobaltabgebende Mittel verwen det man zweckmässig komplexe Kobaltverbin- dimg aliphatischer Oxycarbonsäuren oder ein fache Kobaltsalze wie Kobaltsulfat oder Ko- <RTI
ID="0001.0053"> baltacetat, gegebenenfalls auch frisch gefäll tes Kobaltliydroxyd.
Beispiel: 36,6 Teile des aus diazotiertem 4-Nitro-2- amino-l-oxybenzol und 1-Acetylamino-7-oxy- naphthalin erhaltenen Farbstoffes werden in 2000 Teilen Wasser unter Zusatz von 8 Teilen Natriumhydroxyd gelöst und auf 80 erwärmt.
Zu der erhaltenen violetten Lösung werden 100 Teile einer 80 warmen Lösung von Ko- baltsulfat mit einem Kobaltgehalt von 3,25% gegeben. Nach halb- bis einstündigem Rühren bei 80 ist die Metallisierung beendet. Durch Zusatz von Essigsäure wird die grünblaue Lösung neutralisiert und dann eingedampft.

The new dye forms a water-soluble powder that dyes wool from neutral to acetic acid baths in violet-gray tones, which are characterized by good lightfastness and excellent fastness to washing, fulling and carbonization.
The monoazo dye used as the starting material and corresponding to the above formula can be prepared by coupling the 1-acetylamino-7-oxynaphthalene using methods known per se, eg. B. using hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite, diazotized 4-nitro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene.
The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents is carried out according to the present process in such a way that a cobalt-containing dye is produced which contains less than one atom of cobalt in a complex bond per molecule of dye.
Accordingly, the metallization is expediently carried out with such cobalt-releasing agents and by methods which, experience has shown, give complex cobalt compounds of this composition.
It is generally advisable to use less than one, but at least 1/2 atom of cobalt on a molecule of a dye and / or perform the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium.
