Abstract
The flushing valve for a W.C. cistern, actuated by a float arm, has a valve body (1) which can be installed horizontally or vertically, the arm (10) being attached so that it will actuate the valve in either position. The cylindrical body (1) has an externally threaded nose onto which is screwed a cap (2) with a threaded extension for attachment to the wall of the tank, the inside of the cap having a boss acting as a seating for the valve member (6) mounted on the end of a sliding rod (4) inside the body (1), attached by a pin (7) through its other end to a disc (8) to which is attached the arm (10) of the float (11). This disc is also secured to the body by another pin (12) offset from the middle of the disc.
