Abstract

In this electronic multi-range time-delay relay, the setting member, e.g. potentiometer, which serves to set the time in a stepless fashion is operated by means of a transparent rotary knob (1) which overlaps the major part of the relay front panel (4). The time scale (12), which preferably occupies the edge region of the rotary knob (1), can be provided on the rotary knob or on the front panel. A correspondingly smaller changeover knob (2) is present on the rotary knob (1) for the purpose of preselecting the timing ranges. The changeover knob (2) is mounted on a spindle which is guided through the rotary knob (1) and the setting member for setting the time in a stepless fashion. The spindle is part of a changeover switch by means of which different resistors, for example, for the individual timing ranges are switched into the circuit. By comparison with the conventional juxtaposition of stepless and range time setting, this superimposed arrangement of knobs and setting means facilitates optimum use of space for miniaturisation in conjunction with a simultaneously guaranteed accuracy of setting. <IMAGE>
