Polyolgemisehe
Bs ist aus der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift 1 770 703 bekannt,
bei der Herstellung von Polyurethanen Gemische von miteinander unverträglichen Polyolen einzusetzen. Auf diese
Weise sind Endprodukte mit verbessertem Eigenschaftsniveau wie beispielsweise guter Wärmebeständigkeit und
hoher Schlagzähigkeit zugänglich.
Dieses Prinzip der Polyurethan-Herstellung unter Verwendung von unverträglichen Polyolgemischen eignet sich
gemäß einem eigenen älteren Vorschlag (deutsche Patentanmeldung P 23 09 861.3) auch zur Herstellung von Schaumstoff-Formkörpern
mit kompakter Oberfläche.
Die Verwendung einer Mischung unverträglicher Polyole hat jedoch eine Reihe lager- und verarbeitungstechnischer Nachteile.
Bereits eine kurzfristige Lagerhaltung, d. h. einige Stunden bis drei Tage, derartiger gut durchmischter Polyolsysteme bedingt
die Auftrennung des Gemisches in zwei Phasen, so daß vor jedem Abfüllen die Polyolmischungen wieder sehr intensiv durchmischt
werden müssen, um zu gewährleisten, daß das Mischungsverhältnis der einzelnen Komponenten erhalten bleibt.

Weiterhin ist es nicht möglich, die aufgrund ihrer einfachen Bau*- und Bedienungsweise in der Praxis eingesetzten und mit
einem Zweikomponentenmischkopf ausgestatteten Polyurethan-Verarbeitungsmaschinen
zur Vermischung des Polyolgemisches mit der Isocyanat-Komponente zu verwenden, da die
Entmischungstendenz von vermischten Polyolsysteinen auf
Basis . unverträglicher Polyole nicht gewährleistet, daß die Polyol-Komponenten in dem Mengenverhältnis dem Mischkopf zugeführt
werden, das für eine einwandfreie Herstellung von Polyurethanen unbedingt erforderlich ist.
Ss ist ferner bekannt, Polyolgemischen, die zur Herstellung
von Polyurethanen verwendet werden, anorganische Materialien zuzumischen, wie beispielsweise Bariumsulfat, Kieselgur, Ruß,
Silikate, Titandioxid, Kaolin, Antimontrioxid, Korund. Die anorganischen Bestandteile sollen den unterschiedlichsten
Zwecken dienen, wie z. B. als Flammschutzmittel, Schleifmittel, Füllstoff, festigkeitserhöhendes Mittel. Für derartige
Anwendungsbereiche werden die anorganischen Zusatzstoffe zwischen ca. 5 und 500 Gewichtsteilen, bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile Polyolmischung, eingesetzt.
Es wurde nun überraschend gefunden, daß in einer Mischung aus
miteinander unverträglichen Polyolen und gegebenenfalls in der Polyurethan Chemie üblichen Zusatzstoffen ein schnelles
Absetzen bzw. Abtrennen einer oder mehrerer Komponenten des Gemisches durch die Zumischung geringer Mengen bestimmter anorganischer Materialien weitgehend verhindert wird.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind daher Polyolgemische,enthaltend

a) mindestens zwei miteinander unverträgliche Polyole,
b) 0,05' - 5 Gewichtsprozent bezogen auf Komponente a
eines inerten Oberflächen-aktiven anorganischen Materials einer spezifischen Oberfläche von 10 - 800 m /g
c) gegebenenfalls Hilfs- und Zusatzstoffe, wie sie bei
der Herstellung von Polyurethanen Verwendung finden.
Die Komponente a) der erfindungsgemäßen Gemische besteht
aus einer unverträglichen bzw. nur teilweise verträglichen Kombination zweier oder mehrerer in der Polyurethan
Chemie an sich bekannter Polyhydroxyverbindungen. Es
handelt sich bei diesen Kombinationen vorzugsweise um binäre Systeme aus
1. einem oder mehreren niedermolekularen Polyolen des
Hydroxylzahlbereichs 800 - 1800 und
2. einem oder mehreren höhermolekularen Polyolen des Hydroxylzahlbereichs 28 - 84.
Unverträglich bzw. teilweise verträglich bedeutet im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung, daß die Polyolkombination
nach 12-stündigera Lagern bei Raumtemperatur
ohne erfindungsgemäße Zusätze zumindest zu 1 #,vorzugsweise
zumindest zu 5 #, eine Auftrennung erfährt, wobei die genannten Prozentsätze sich auf die Volumenteile bezogen
auf ursprünglich eingesetzte Gesamtmischung beziehen, die sich in Form einer sichtbaren Schicht von der Gesamtmenge
absetzen.
Die Gewichteverhältnisse niedermolekulares Polyol : höhermolekular es Polyöl in dem Polyolgemisch a) liegen im allgemeinen zwischen 60 : 40 und 10 : 90, vorzugsweise zwischen
50 : 50 und 20 : 80.

Bei der niedermolekularen Polyolkomponenten 1) handelt
es sich vorzugsweise um Verbindungen des Molekulargewichtsbereichs 62 - 500 der allgemeinen Formel
R(OH)n
in welcher η für eine ganze Zahl von 2 - 10, vorzugsweise 2-4 steht und R für einen n-wertigen aliphatischen
Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 2-8 Kohlenstoffatomen, einen cycloaliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 5-10 Kohlenstoffatomen
oder einen araliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 8-10 Kohlenstoffatomen steht, wobei der Rest R
auch Heteroatome, insbesondere Sauerstoff, in Form von Äther-, Ester- und Glykosidgruppen aufweisen kann.
Beispiele derartiger Polyole sind Äthylenglykol, 1,2-Iropandiol,
1,3-Propandiol, 1,4-Butandiol, 1,2-Butandiol,
1,2-Pentandiol, 1,5-Pentandiol, 1,2-Hexandiol, 1,6-Hexandiol,
Glycerin, Trimethylolpropan, Pentaerythrit,Sorbit, Succrose,c?C -Methylglycosid, Diethylenglykol, Dipropylenglykol,
1,4-Dimethylol-cyclohexan, 1,4-Dihydroxy-cyclohexan,
1,2,6-Hexantriol, 1,4-Dimethylolbenzol, niedermolekulare
Anlagerungsprodukte von Äthylenoxid und/oder
Propylenoxid an derartige Polyole oder auch niedermolekulare Polyhydroxypolyester, wie z.B. das Vereeterungsprodukt von
1 Mol Oxalsäure mit 2 Mol Äthylenglykol.
Bei der Polyolkomponenten 2) handelt es sich vorzugsweise
um die in der Polyurethan Chemie an sich bekannten PoIyhydroxy-polyester, -polyäther, -polythioäther, -polyacetale,
-polycarbonate oder -polyesteramide des Molekulargewichtsbereichs 1000 - 6000 vorzugsweise 1300 - 4800 und des
OH-Zahlbereichs 28 - 84« Die in Frage kommenden Hydroxylgruppen aufweisenden Polyester sind z.B. Umsetzungsprodukte von mehrwertigen, vorzugsweise

zweiwertigen und gegebenenfalls zusätzlich dreiwertigen Alkoholen mit mehrwertigen, vorzugsweise zweiwertigen, Carbonsäuren.
Anstelle der freien Polycarbonsäuren können auch die entsprechenden Polycarbonsäureanhydride oder entsprechende
Polycarbonsäureester von niedrigen Alkoholen oder deren Gemische zur Herstellung der Polyester verwendet werden. Die
Polycarbonsäuren können aliphatischer, cycloaliphatischer, aromatischer und/oder heterocyclischer Natur sein und gegebenenfalls,
z.B. durch Halogenatome, substituiert und/oder ungesättigt sein. Als Beispiele hierfür seien genannt: Bernsteinsäure,
Adipinsäure, Korksäure, Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure, Phthalsäure, Isophthalsäure, Trimellitsäure, Phthalsäureanhydrid,
Tetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid, Hexahydrophthalsäureanhydrid, Tetrachlorphthalsäureanhydrid, Endomethylentetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid,
Glutarsäureanhydrid,
Maleinsäure, Maleinsäureanhydrid, Fumarsäure, dimere und trimere Fettsäuren wie ölsäure, gegebenenfalls in Mischung
mit monomeren Fettsäuren, Terephthalsäuredimethylester, Terephthalsäure-bis-glykolester. Als mehrwertige Alkohole
kommen z.B. Äthylenglykol, Propylenglykol-(1,2) und -(1,3)f
Butylenglykol-(1,4) und -(2,3), Hexandiol-(1,6), Octandiol-(1,8), Neopentylglykol, Cyclohexandimethanol (1,4-Bis-hydroxymethylcyclohexan),
2-Methyl-1,3-propandiol,
Glycerin, Trimethylolpropan, Hex.antriol-(1,2,6), Butantriol-(1,2,4),
Trimethyloläthan, Pentaerythrit, Chinit, Mannit und Sorbit, Methylglykosid, ferner Diäthylenglykol,
Triäthylenglykol, Tetraäthylenglykol, Polyäthylenglykol
Dipropylenglykol, Polypropylenglykole, Dibutylenglykol und
Polybutylenglykole in Frage. Die Polyester können anteilig
endständige Carboxylgruppen aufweisen. Auch Polyester aus lactonen, z.B. fc-Caprolacton oder Hydroxycarbonsäuren, z.B.
ω-Hydroxycapronsäure, sind einsetzbar.

Auch die erfindungsgemäß in Frage kommenden, mindestens zwei,
in--der Regel zwei bis acht, vorzugsweise zwei bis drei,
Hydroxylgruppen aufweisenden Polyäther sind solche der an sich bekannten Art und werden z.B. durch Polymerisation von
Epoxiden wie Äthylenoxid, Propylenoxid, Butylenoxid, Tetrahydrofuran,
Styroloxid oder Epichlorhydrin mit sich selbst,
z.B. in Gegenwart von BF^, oder durch Änderung dieser
Epoxide, gegebenenfalls im Gemisch oder nacheinander, an Startkomponenten mit reaktionsfähigen Wasserstoffatomen wie
Alkohole oder Amine, z.B. Wasser, Äthylenglykol, Propylenglykol-(1,3) oder -(1,2), Trimethylolpropan, ^^•-Dihydroxydiphenylpropan,
Anilin, Ammoniak, Ä'thanolamin, Äthylendiamin
hergestellt. Auch Sucrosepolyäther, wie sie z.B. in den deutschen Auslegeschriften 1 176 358 und 1 064 938 beschrieben
werden, kommen erfindungsgemäß in Frage. Vielfach sind solche Polyäther bevorzugt, die überwiegend (bis zu
90 Gew.-Ji, bezogen auf alle vorhandenen OH-Gruppen im Polyäther)
primäre OH-Gruppen aufweisen. Auch durch Vinylpolymerieate
modifizierte Polyäther, wie sie z.B. durch Polymerisation von Styrol, Acrylnitril in Gegenwart von PoIyäthern
entstehen (amerikanische Patentschriften 3.383.351t 3.304.273, 3.523.093, 3.110.695, deutsche Patentschrift
1.152.536), sind ebenfalls geeignet, ebenso OH-Gruppen aufweisende Polybutadiene.
Unter den Polythioäthern seien insbesondere die Kondensationsprodukte von Thiodiglykol mit sich selbst und/oder mit anderen
Glykolen, Dicarbonsäuren, Formaldehyd, Aminocarbonsäuren oder Aminoalkoholen angeführt. Je nach den Co-Komponenten handelt
es sich bei den Produkten um Polythiomischäther, Polythioätherester,
Polythioätheresteramide.

Als Polyacetale kommen z.B. die aus Glykolen, wie Diäthylenglykol,
Triäthylenglykol, 4,4l-Dioxäthoxy-diphenyldimethylmethan,
Hexandiol und Formaldehyd herstellbaren Verbindungen in Frage. Auch durch Polymerisation cyclischer Acetale lassen
sich erfindungsgemäß geeignete Polyacetale herstellen.
Als Hydroxylgruppen aufweisende Polycarbonate kommen solche der
an sich bekannten Art in Betracht, die z.B. durch Umsetzung von Diolen wie Propandiol-(1,3), Butandiol-(1,4) und/oder Hexandiol-
(1,6), Diäthylenglykol, Triäthylenglykol, Tetraäthylenglykol
mit Diarylcarbonaten, z.B. Diphenylcarbonat oder Phosgen,hergestellt werden können.
Zu den Polyesteramiden und Polyamiden zählen z.B. die aus mehrwertigen
gesättigten und ungesättigten Carbonsäuren bzw. deren Anhydriden und mehrwertigen gesättigten und ungesättigten Aminoalkoholen,
Diaminen, Polyaminen und ihre Mischungen gewonnenen. Torwiegend linearen Kondensat·.
Bevorzugt werden die in der Polyurethan-Ohemie an sich bekannten Polyhydroxypolyäther der genannten Art mit 2-3 Hydroxylgruppen
pro Molekül als höhermolekulares Polyol eingesetzt.
Bei der Komponenten b) der erfindungsgemäßen Gemische handelt
es sich um im Sinne der Isocyanat-Polyadditionsreaktion
inerte Oberflächen-aktive anorganische Substanzen einer spezifischen Oberfläche nach BET (S. Brunauer, P.H. Emmett und
E. Teller, "Adsorption of Gases in Mult!molecular Layers",
J. Amer, Chem. Soc. 60, 309 (1938)) von 10 - 800 m /g, vorzugsweise
von 50 - 200 m /g.
Beliebige obiger Definition entsprechende anorganische Materialien in den verschiedensten Erscheinungsformen, wie
z.B. voluminösen Agglomeraten oder in Faserform, .sowohl
mineralischen als auch synthetischen Ursprungs, können erfindungsgemäß eingesetzt werden. Beispiele sind Aktivkohlen,
Asbeste, Oberflächen-aktive Kieselsäurepräparate, oder Zeolithe. Vorzugsweise werden Oberflächen-aktive Kiesel-

säureagglomerate, der verschiedensten Herstellungsart, wie
z.B. pyrogene, gefällte oder mikronisierte Kieselsäure-Typen, Chrysotil-Asbeste,wie sie nach den verschiedensten an sich
bekannten Aufschließungsmethoden erhalten werden können, bzw. Chrysotil-Asbesten' bezüglich ihrer mineralogischen
Struktur entsprechende Materialien eingesetzt. Gemische dieser Verbindungen können auch eingesetzt werden.
Die Komponente b) liegt in den erfindungsgemäßen Gemischen in Mengen von 0f>5 - 5, vorzugsweise von 0,15- 3 Gewichtsprozent
pro 100 Gewichtsteilen der Komponenten a) vor.
Bei den gegebenenfalls in den erfindungsgemäßen Gemischen vorliegenden Hilfs- und Zusatzstoffen handelt es sich
insbesondere um die in der Polyurethan Chemie an sich bekannten Stabilisatoren, Aktivatoren, Emulgatoren und/oder
Treibmittel, wie sie beispielsweise im Kunststoff-Handbuch,
Band VII, Carl-Hanser Verlag, München 1966, beschrieben sind.
Durch den Zusatz der Komponenten b) wird eine ganz wesentliche Stabilisierung der Systeme erreicht. Im
allgemeinen wird durch den Zusatz der Komponenten b) eine 5 - 60-fache zeltliche Verzögerung der Auftrennung
erreicht. Bei den erfindungsgemäßen Gemischen handelt es sich in erster Näherung um feinteilige Emulsionen, deren

(erfindungsgemäß verzögerte)/über die Zwischenstufe einer
grobteiligen Emulsion zu mehrschichtigen, insbesondere
zweischichtigen Systemen führt.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Gemische unterscheiden sich daher
vorteilhaft von den gemäß deutscher Offenlegungsschrift 1 770 703 zum Einsatz gelangenden Gemischen durch eine
wesentlich verbesserte Verarbeitbarkeit bei der Herstellung von Polyurethan-Schaumstoffen unter Verwendung

der bekannten 2-Komponenten-Mischaggregate. Weiterhin
eröffnet die vorliegende Erfindung die Möglichkeit einer wochenlangen Lagerung von an sich unverträglichen
Polyolgemischen ohne nennenswerte Entmischung.
Die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Polyolgemisehe erfolgt
beispielsweise in der Weise, daß man die nieder- und höhermolekularen
Polyole und die'Hilfs- und Zusatzstoffe zusammen oder nacheinander vorzugsweise unter Ausschluß von Luftfeuchtigkeit
vermischt, wobei es-vorteilhaft sein kann, das anorganische erfindungswesentliche Material als letzte
Komponente in das die übrigen Bestandteile bereits enthaltende Gemisch einzumischen. Zum Einmischen der erfindungswesentlichen
anorganischen Zusatzstoffe empfiehlt sich · die Verwendung von hochtourigen Rührern obwohl durch einfache
Laborrührer im allgemeinen .bereits eine ausreichend homogene Einmischung der Zusatzstoffe möglich ist.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Gemische werden zur Herstellung von Polyurethanen insbesondere von Polyurethan-Hartschäumen
sowie halbharten bis harten Polyurethanschaumstoff-Pormkörpern
mit ein- oder beidseitiger kompakter Randzone eingesetzt.

Die folgenden Beispiele veranschaulichen die vorliegende Erfindung, ohne sie zu beschränken.
Das Polyolgemisch, enthaltend
100 Gewichtsteile eines Polyäthers, der durch Anlagerung von
87 % Propylenoxid und 13 % Äthylenoxid an
Triraethylolpropan dargestellt wird, OK-Zahl = 35,
60 Gewichtsteile Butandiol-1,4,
1,5 Gewichtsteile permethyliertes Diäthylentriamin als
Aktivator und
1,0 Gewichtsteil eines handelsüblichen Polyätherpoly-
siloxan-Stabilisators,
wird intensiv zu einer homogenen Mischung vermischt. Innerhalb von 2 Stunden beginnt
sich das Gemisch in zwei Phasen aufzutrennen, so daß
eine einwandfreie maschinelle Verarbeitung des Gemisches zur Herstellung von Polyurethanen, d.h. die Vermischung
der Polyolmischung mit Isocyanat über einen marktüblichen
Zweikomponenten-Mischaggregat, nicht gewährleistet ist. Nach 48-stündiger Lagerung bei Raumtemperatur war
praktisch die Gesamtmenge des Butandiols ausgeschieden.
Setzt man der Polyolmischung nunmehr geringe Gewichtsmengen eines
anorganischen Materials mit großer Oberfläche in homogener Verteilung hinzu, so wird eine einwandfreie Verarbeitung
des Gemisches erreicht. Darüber hinaus ist die Polyolmischung über Wochen "lagerstabil", d.h. eine Auftrennung
des Gemisches in zwei Phasen, so daß keine einwandfreie Verarbeitbarkeit mehr gegeben ist, beginnt frühestens nach
einer Woche.

Nach Zumischung der nachstehend präzisierten anorganischen
Materialien war nach 1-wöchiger Lagerung bei Raumtemperatur keinerlei Entmischung des Systems zu beobachten.
Es wurden eingesetzt:
a) 0,5 Gewichtsteile einer pyrogenen Kieselsäure der
spezifischen Oberfläche 120m /g;
b) 0,5 Gewichtsteile eines Chrysotil-Asbests der spezifischen
Oberfläche 150 m /g;
c) 0,5 Gewichtsteile einer Kombination aus Chryeotil-Asbest
und synthetischer Kieselsäure (spezifische Oberfläche
der Kombination: 100 m /g).
Die Komponenten a) - c) wurden jeweils einzeln und nicht im Gemisch eingesetzt.
Das Polyolgemisch, enthaltend
100 Gewichtsteile eines Polyäthers, der durch Anlagerung von
83 % Propylenoxid und 17 ^.Ethylenoxid an
Trimethylolpropan dargestellt wird,
OH-Zahl = 56 60 Gewichtsteile Butandiol-1,4,
1,0 Gewichtsteil eines Gemische gleicher Teile zweier
handelsüblicher Polyätherpolysiloxanstabilisatoren,
1,5 Gewichtsteile permethyliertes Diäthylentriamin und

10 Gewichtsteile Monofluortrichlormethan,
verhält sich hinsichtlich Misch- und maschineHer Verarbeitbarkeit
wie das Polyolgemisch in Beispiel 1.
Nach der Zumischung von 0,5 Gewichtsteilen des Gemisches aus Chrysotil-Asbest und synthetischer Kieselsäure der in Beispiel
1 c genannten Art beginnt eine Auftrennung des Polyolgemisches in zwei Phasen erst nach 8 Tagen.
Ein Polyolgemisch wie in Beispiel 1, in dem aber die 60 Gewichtsteile Butandiol durch k5 Gewichtsteile Äthylenglykol ersetzt
sind, trennt sich nach intensiver Vermischung innerhalb von einigen Stunden wieder in zwei Phasen auf.
Die Zumischung von
0,5 Gewichtsteilen der Kombination aus Chrysotil-Asbest und synthetischer Kieselsäure des Beispiels 1 c
verhindert eine Abtrennung einer oder mehrerer Komponenten der Polyolmischung für mindestens vier Wochen.

Claims (4)
- Patentansprüche: * ^O ·,1 · Polyolgemisch, enthaltenda) mindestens zwei miteinander unverträgliche Polyole,b) 0,05 - 5 Gewichtsprozent bezogen auf Komponente a) eines inerten Oberflächen-aktiven anorganischen Materials einer spezifischen Oberfläche von 10 - 800 m /g undc) gegebenenfalls Hilfs- und Zusatzstoffe, wie sie bei der Herstellung von Polyurethanen Verwendung finden.
- 2. Polyolgemisch gemäß Anspruch 1, bei welchem die Komponente a)eine Kombination aus1. mindestens einem niedermolekularen Polyol mit einer Hydroxylzahl von 800 - 1800 und2. mindestens einem höhermolekularen Polyol mit einer Hydroxylzahl von 28-84darstellt.
- 3. Polyolgemisch gemäß Anspruch 2, bei welchem das Gewi chtsverhältnis der Komponente 1 zur Komponenten 2 zwischen 60 : 40 und 10 : 90 liegt.
- 4. Polyolgemisch gemäß Anspruch 1 bis 3, in welchem die Komponente b)ein KieselsäureaggüDinerat und/oder ein Chrysotil-Asbest und/oder ein in seinem mineralischen Aufbau Chrysotil-Asbest entsprechendes anorganisohes Material darstellt.Le A 15 109 - 13 -509809/0967
