Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Belegen von
anorganischen Stoffen mit Edelmetallen.
Aus der US-PS 44 07 738 ist bekannt, anorganische
Stoffe, wie zum Beispiel Aluminiumoxid, mit Edelmetall
zu belegen. Gemäß dem bekannten Verfahren imprägniert
man den Aluminiumoxidträger in einem einzigen Schritt,
wobei man eine saure Lösung einer platinhaltigen
Verbindung, einer rhodiumhaltigen Verbindung, einer
starken Mineralsäure und eines Ammoniumsalzes
verwendet. Nach dem Imprägnieren des Aluminiumoxides
wird der Katalysator bei 80 bis 250°C auf einen
Wassergehalt von ca. 1% getrocknet und anschließend
bei einer Temperatur von 300 bis 650°C calciniert, um
die Metallsalze zum Metall zu reduzieren, wobei als
reduzierendes Agens Wasserstoff bei 500°C verwendet
wird.
Aus der DD-PS 2 62 020 ist bekannt, Zeolith ZSM-5 mit
wäßriger Hexachloroplatinsäure zu tränken,
anschließend in einem Luftstrom bei 720 K zu behandeln
und danach bei 720 K im Wasserstoffstrom zu
reduzieren.
Aus der BE-PS 8 25 590 ist bekannt, einen
aluminiumhaltigen Träger mit einer wäßrigen Lösung von
Hexachloroiridiumsäure zu tränken, mit wäßriger
Ammoniak-Lösung zu versetzen, zu trocknen, zu
kalzinieren und anschließend mit Wasserstoff zu
reduzieren.
Die Reduktion mit Wasserstoff ist notwendig, weil nach
der Kalzination der Katalysator noch Iridiumsalze, die
eine unterwünschte Oxidationszahl aufweisen, enthalten
kann. Durch die Behandlung mit Wasserstoff wird eine
vollständige Reduktion zum reinen Metall erreicht.
Die bekannten Verfahren weisen den Nachteil auf, daß
man zur vollständigen Reduktion der Edelmetallsalze
bis zum elementaren Metall stets Wasserstoff einsetzen
muß. Hierzu sind, um ein explosionsgeschütztes und
damit gefahrloses Arbeiten zu ermöglichen, besondere,
aufwendige Maßnahmen erforderlich.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist, ein Verfahren zum Belegen
von anorganischen Stoffen mit elementaren Edelmetallen
zu finden, bei welchem man auf die aufwendigen
Maßnahmen verzichten kann.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Belegen
von anorganischen Stoffen mit Edelmetallen, welches
dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man in Gegenwart der
anorganischen Stoffe Ammoniumchlorometallate der
Formel (NH₄)₂ [MeCl₆], wobei Me = Pd, Re, Os, Ir und Pt
sein kann, oder (NH₄)₃ [RhCl₆] · H₂O oder
(NH₄)₄ [Ru₂Cl₁₀O] unter Ausschluß von Sauerstoff und
Feuchtigkeit derart thermisch zersetzt, daß das
Edelmetall in reiner elementarer Form auf dem
anorganischen Stoff abgeschieden wird.
Als anorganischer Stoff kann man Stoffe aus der Gruppe
α-Korund, Zeolith ZSM-5, Silikalit, Zeolith Na-Y,
Zeolith La-Y oder Mordenit einsetzten.
Bevorzugt werden als anorganischer Stoff Zeolithe des
Typs ZSM-5 mit dem Modul 30, 40 oder 120 (SiO₂ :
Al₂O₃) eingesetzt.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann durchgeführt
werden, indem man den anorganischen Stoff mit dem
Ammoniumchlorometallat, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz
von Ammoniumchlorid (NH₄Cl), innig vermischt,
gegebenenfalls miteinander verreibt, diese Mischung in
wäßriger Salzsäurelösung bis zur vollständigen Lösung
des Ammoniumchlorometallates bei einer Temperatur von
90 bis 110°C aufschlämmt, diese Suspension bis zur
Trockene eindampft, den Rückstand unter Ausschluß von
Sauerstoff in Gegenwart eines Inertgases zuerst bis
zur Wasserfreiheit bei einer Temperatur von 250 bis
300°C weitertrocknet und anschließnend bei einer
höheren Temperatur von 380 bis 450°C die thermische
Zersetzung durchführt.
Die thermische Zersetzungsreaktion der
Ammoniumchlorometallate wird beschrieben in Gerd Meyer
und Angela Möller, Journal of the Less Common Metals,
170, 327 (1991).
Das Mengenverhältnis von anorganischem Stoff zum
Ammoniumchlorometallat kann in der Ausgangsmischung
vor dem Digerieren in Salzsäure 0,05 bis 1,0 Gew.-%,
bezogen auf das reine Edelmetall, betragen.
Die Ausgangsmischung kann weiterhin Ammoniumchlorid in
einer Menge von 1 bis 20 Mol.-% der
Ammoniumchlorometallatverbindung enthalten.
Als Ammoniumchlorometallate können die folgenden
Verbindungen und die folgendn Zersetzungstemperaturen
eingesetzt werden:

Die eingesetzten Ammoniumchlorometallate sind bekannt.
Sie werden auf Grund einfacher Reaktionen in wäßriger
Lösung hergestellt.
Die thermische Zersetzung verläuft nach der
Bruttogleichung
wobei Me=Re, Os, Ir und Pt bedeuten.
Im einzelnen laufen bei der Zersetzung der Pd-, Rh-
und Ru-Verbindungen die folgenden
Teilreaktionsschritte ab:

Auf Grund der leichten Verdampfbarkeit der
Nebenprodukte N₂, HCl und Ammoniumchlorid kann das
Edelmetall in reiner Form und ohne weitere
Verunreinigung auf dem anorganischen Stoff
abgeschieden werden.
Als Inertgas können N₂ oder Edelgase, wie Argon oder
Helium, eingesetzt werden.
Die eingesetzte Salzsäure kann eine Konzentration von
2 bis 5 Mol/l aufweisen. Sie kann in einer Menge von 1
bis 5 ml/g, bezogen auf den anorganischen Stoff,
eingesetzt werden.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren hat den Vorteil, daß
bei der thermischen Zersetzung des Edelmetallkomplexes
auf die nicht ganz ungefährliche Verwendung von
Wasserstoff verzichtet werden kann.
Die erfindungsgemäß mit elementarem Edelmetall
belegten anorganischen Stoffe können als Katalysator
bei chemischen Reaktionen eingesetzt werden. Sie können
einen Edelmetallgehalt von 0,05 bis 1,5 Gew.-%
aufweisen.
Die vorteilhaften katalytischen Eigenschaften der
erfindungsgemäß hergestellten, mit Edelmetall
beschichteten anorganischen Stoffe zeigen sich zum
Beispiel bei der Reaktion CO + 1/2 O₂→CO₂. So
benötigen nach bekannten Verfahren unter Verwendung
von Hexachloroplatinsäure und Reduktion mit
Wasserstoff hergestellte Katalysatoren auf
H-Y-Zeolith-Basis eine Ansprungtemperatur von 240 bis
250°C. Mit dem erfindungsgemäß beschichteten
H-Y-Zeolith ist für dieselbe Reaktion nur eine
Ansprungtemperatur von 220 bis 230°C notwendig.
20 g Zeolith ZSM-5 mit einem Modul SiO₂ : Al₂O₃=30
werden mit (NH₄)₂[PdCl₆] und NH₄Cl innig verrieben.
Diese Mischung wird in 40 ml einer 4N Salzsäure bei
einer Temperatur von 90-110°C so lange
aufgeschlämmt, bis die Verbindung (NH₄)₂[PdCl₆]
vollständig in Lösung gegangen ist. Die Lösung wird
bei einer Temperatur von 80 bis 110°C bis zur
Trockene eingedampft. Die homogene Probe wird mit
etwas Wasser aufgenommen (2mal bis zu 15 ml) und
unter ständigem Rühren erneut bis zur Trockene
eingedampft, d. h. bis der Wassergehalt maximal 7 bis
12 Gew.-% beträgt. Das erhaltene Pulver wird verrieben
und in eine einseitig geöffnete Ampulle gegegen.
Unter Argonatmosphäre wird die Ampulle langsam über 3
Stunden bis auf eine Temperatur von 250°C erhitzt.
Nachdem keine Wasserentwicklung mehr feststellbar ist,
wird weiter auf die Zersetzungstemperatur von 380 bis
420°C erhitzt. Diese Temperatur wird für einen
Zeitraum von 8 bis 10 h beibehalten. Nach dem Abkühlen
auf eine Temperatur von 200°C kann das Produkt aus
dem Ofen entnommen werden.
Die eingesetzte Menge an Ammoniumchlorometallat,
bezogen auf 20 g ZSM-5 kann der Tabelle 1 entnommen
werden.
Claims (2)
1. Verfahren zum Belegen von anorganischen Stoffen mit
Edelmetallen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man in
Gegenwart der anorganischen Stoffe
Ammoniumchlorometallate der Formel (NH₄)₂[MeCl₆],
wobei Me=Pd, Re, Os, Ir und Pt sein kann, oder
(NH₄)₃[RhCl₆] · H₂O oder (NH₄)₄[Ru₂Cl₁₀O] unter
Ausschluß von Sauerstoff und Feuchtigkeit derart
thermisch zersetzt, daß das Edelmetall in reiner
elementarer Form auf dem anorganischen Stoff
abgeschieden wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man den anorganischen Stoff mit dem
Ammoniumchlorometallat, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz
von Ammoniumchlorid, innig vermischt,
gegebenenfalls miteinander verreibt, diese Mischung
in wäßriger Salzsäurelösung bis zur vollständigen
Lösung des Ammoniumchlorometallates bei einer
Temperatur von 90 bis 110°C aufschlämmt, diese
Suspension bis zur Trockene eindampft, den
Rückstand unter Ausschluß von Sauerstoff in
Gegenwart eines Inertgases zuerst bis zur
Wasserfreiheit bei einer Temperatur von 250 bis 300°C
weitertrocknet und anschließend bei einer
höheren Temperatur von 380 bis 450°C die
thermische Zersetzung durchführt.
