Bei den elektrischen Staubsaugern liegender Bauart ist die Reinigung des Staubfilters, gegebenenfalls des das Staubfilter aufnehmenden Raumes schwierig. Nach Abnehmen des Gehäuseteils, der dne Staubfilterraum abschließt, ist infolge der waagerechten Lage der Hauptachse des Staubsaugergehäuses das Innere des Staubfilterraumes nicht übersichtlich. Beim Herausnehmen des Filterbeutels kann leicht durch Anstoßen des Filterbeutels an den Gehäusewandungen Staub außerhalb des Staubsaugers auf den Boden verschüttet werden, so daß bisher irgend welche Unterlagen, z.B. Der elektrische Staubsauger gemäß der Erfindung gehört zu den Geräten liegender Bauart und hat einen zylindrischen Gehäuseteil 1 und zwei stirnseitige Kappen 2 und 3. Nach der Erfindung sind die Enden der Schlittenkufen, die sich an der die Ausblaseöffnung 5 enthaltenden Kappe 3 des Gehäuses befinden, in einer solchen Lage gegenüber der Stirnseite des Staubsaugergehäuses angeordnet, daß der Staubsauger zur Filterreinigung durch Aufsetzen auf diese Stirnseite und die Enden der Schlittenkufen standsicher hochgestellt werden kann. Es ist zweckmäßig, daß die Enden der Schlittenkufen in Achsrichtung des Staubsaugergehäuses etwas gegenüber der Stirnseite des Gehäuses zurückstehen. Auf diese Weise wird erreicht, daß beim Hochstellen des Staubsaugers die Schwerpunktskraft S die von der Stirnseite des Gehäuses und den Schlittenkufenenden gebildete Standfläche durchdringt. Vorteilhaft geht die Schwerpunktskraft S durch die Mitte der von den drei Aufsetzstellen gebildeten Dreiecksfläche, so daß eine ausreichende Stabilität in jeder Richtung gewährleistet wird. An dem hochgestellten Staubsauger gemäß der Erfindung kann in bequemer Lage für die den Staubsauger bedienende Person die den Filterraum abschließende Kappe 2 geöffnet werden. Nach Öffnen der Kappe ist er Filterraum völlig übersichtlich, so daß der Filterbeutel, ohne an den Gehäusewandungen anzustoßen, aus dem Staubsaugergehäuse herausgenommen und wieder eingesetzt werden kann. Auch läßt sich der Filterraum bequem säubern.
