Description
For certain therapeutic purposes it is necessary to use drugs in liquid form, i.e. in the form of solutions or dispersions, for example for injections or rubs. Insofar as the pharmaceuticals used are only sparingly soluble or not at all soluble in water, they have hitherto been used for this purpose in particular for injections as a solution or. Dispersants the naturally occurring oils. Although these have the advantage of being non-irritating in addition to being well tolerated by the organism, they have some disadvantages. They contain accompanying substances that cannot always be completely removed by refining, and the solutions made from them have considerable viscosities, which make it necessary to use relatively strong cannulas for the injections. The high viscosity of natural oils makes it necessary to apply unnecessarily thick layers or to use other viscosity-reducing solvents, which, however, as far as the solvents known up to now are concerned, have an irritating effect or, such as ethyl alcohol, not in liquid oils are soluble. Another disadvantage of naturally occurring oils is that they always contain unsaturated fatty acids, which means that there is a risk of autoxidation.
Through detailed tests it has now been found that the disadvantages mentioned of naturally occurring oils can be avoided if one as a solution or. Dispersant for pharmaceutical preparations which uses esters from fatty acids and monohydric alcohols.
The fatty acid component of these esters can consist of individual aliphatic monocarboxylic acids or mixtures of these, both of natural or synthetic origin.
Dispersion die genannten Ester besonders geeignet sind, kommen beispielsweise in Frage:The alcohol component can consist of the monohydric lower aliphatic alcohols with the exclusion of methyl alcohol with a chain length of up to 5 carbon atoms, namely both primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols, either individually or in mixtures. As a drug, respectively for their solution. Dispersion the esters mentioned are particularly suitable, for example:
Campher, Hormone, Vitamine, Wismutverbindungen, Salicylsäureester, Jodverbindungen, Senföl und andere.Camphor, hormones, vitamins, bismuth compounds, salicylic acid esters, iodine compounds, mustard oil and others.
The solutions prepared with the aid of the esters mentioned BEZW. Dispersions have a number of advantages over the previously known naturally occurring oils: For example, the fatty acids can be largely purified by distillation before the ester is produced, so that the presence of undesirable accompanying substances is completely eliminated. In contrast to the naturally occurring oils, the esters mentioned can also be easily purified by distillation. The esters mentioned have a low viscosity, so that solutions or dispersions made with them can be injected through thin cannulas. The composition can be varied and precisely adjusted as required. So both For example, produce ester oils with a precisely determinable viscosity. By using exclusively saturated fatty acids, however, liquid oils with an iodine number of 0 can also be produced at normal temperatures, in which any risk of autoxidation is eliminated. The possibilities arising from this are new and surprising that such oils do not occur in nature. For external use, the solubility of the esters mentioned in ethyl alcohol plays a decisive role, since special therapeutic effects can be achieved through the simultaneous use of ester oil and ethyl alcohol (or other alcohols) as solvents. Another advantage is that the simultaneous use of the ester oils mentioned and naturally occurring oils can be used to set any desired viscosity of the solution or dispersion.
