Abstract

When connecting two pieces of wood, a connecting piece 10 is used, consisting of a base plate 11 and one or more inter-parallel ribs 12, 13 formed on each of the opposing sides of the base plate. The ribs on these opposing sides may extend in the same direction, but are preferably orthogonal to each other. In each piece of wood, grooves are milled in the fibre direction of the wood for receiving the ribs 12, 13 of the connecting piece. The connection of the pieces of wood is established by clamping together by means of one or more screws or bolts or other clamping means, the connecting piece 10 being placed between the two pieces of wood such that the ribs are engaging in the grooves made in the wood pieces. <IMAGE>
