- the lids are punched out, for example, from an endless lid material and stacked.
- the stack of lids are fed to a packaging machine and the separated or unstacked lids are continuously sealed onto the already filled containers.
- the lids provided with a sealing layer are made using a sealing tool sealed onto the edge of the container in the shoulder area of the container.
- the separation or unstacking the lid by removing it from the lid stack is done by the packaging machines not always carried out reliably, because the adjacent lids can adversely stick to each other. For example, by embossing the Lid material can prevent the effect of sticking together. Mintings on However, lid material has a negative effect on the printed image on the outside of the lid out.
- the lid material can be made of different materials, depending on the requirements, his. Typical examples are metal foils with plastic on one or both sides are coated. Other lid materials contain or consist of plastics in Form of monofilms or multilayer laminates. Other lid materials can be made from materials containing cellulose, such as cellophane or paper. - the facing side of the carrier material 5 is in the area the shoulder 4 of the container 1, the sealing layer of primer 8 and sealing wax 9 only in places applied, namely according to or approximately according to the image of the annular Shoulder 4 of the cup 1.
- On the cover 10 is the sealing layer of primer 8 and Sealing wax 9 accordingly only or essentially only at those points on the carrier 5 applied, which come into contact with the shoulder 4. This is through the dash-dotted lines Lines indicated schematically. For the present example, this would be mean that the sealing layer 8, 9 has been printed in a ring on the carrier 5. It it goes without saying that the printed image of the sealing layer from the shoulder area 4 of the Cup 1 may vary slightly.
- this can Print image of the sealing layer 8.9 be narrower, e.g. 1 to 50% narrower than the width of the Shoulder of the container 4, or to compensate for machine inaccuracies, the area of the printed image of the sealing layer 8.9 is larger by a few percent, such as 1 to 25% be as the contact surface between the lid 10 and shoulder area 4.
- Das Print pattern 11 is also formed, for example, by primer 8 and sealing wax 9. At corrosion-sensitive lid materials, e.g. Metal foils, it is recommended to use the primer 8 to be applied over the entire surface as protection against aggressive filling goods.
- top view 10 with different printing patterns is shown in plan view 11 shown.
- the print pattern 11 can be seen in the form of a pattern of dots 12.
- the print pattern 11 is within the printed sealing edge from the sealing layer 8.9 printed on the carrier 5.
- the print pattern 11 is in Form of a grid of single lines or strips 13, for example in parallel or more radial Arrangement, recognizable.
- the print pattern 11 is also within the printed sealing edge from the sealing layer 8.9 printed on the carrier 5.
- the present lid material can be sealed onto the edge of the container via the sealing layer become.
- the sealing pressure and the sealing temperature the strength of the sealed seam can be adjusted.
- too Scribing aids for example in the form of weakly sealed sections in the sealed seam or by serrated sealing seam edges.
- the printed one Sealant layer can also be glued with an adhesive, such as a contact adhesive or an adhesive that sets under heat and / or pressure become. This with the proviso that the adhesive process in a printing unit leaves and the adhesive can be printed on the lid material.
- the present cover material has the advantage of being extremely economical with the starting materials to deal with, especially by using the primer or adhesion promoter and sealing wax only sparingly is used where it is actually needed.
- the primer or coupling agent is used in amounts of 0.2 to 30 g, preferably 1 to 20 g, per square meter and the sealing wax in quantities of 0.5 to 30 g, preferably 1.5 to 20 g, per square meter and in particular applied with 4 to 10 g per square meter.
- the primer, resp. Adhesion promoter and the sealing wax usually for processing in the Printing machine must be absorbed in a solvent, the amount is reduced on the solvent to be evaporated considerably. This is expressed both in the energy requirement as well as in the amount of solvent.
- the present procedure is in further advantageous because the production of the cover material involves a machine operation less needed.
- the sealing layer does not have to be applied separately as a layer or film be, but can be when attaching the print image in the same operation and in the Printing machine.
- the print pattern spaces the lids in the stack from each other and mutual sticking of the lids is effectively prevented. In order to Non-embossed lids in the stack of lids are reliably machine-compatible in packaging machines.
- the finished lids can also be a tear-open or grip tab and / or weakening, for example in the form of perforations or marking notches, which make opening the container easier by removing the lid.
- the sealing layer on the lid essentially only in the shoulder area of the opposite Container is present, the risk that components from the Diffuse the sealing layer into the container contents and, for example, the container contents influenced by odors or flavors.
- the present invention also makes it possible to be completely transparent or almost completely To create transparent lid materials by using the sealing wax only at the points the seal and not over the entire lid area and the properties of a completely transparent carrier material.
- the transparent Carrier materials thus deteriorate in transparency due to the Sealing wax and the primer not.
