Abstract

A contact member facing in opposition to guide rails is provided on a vertical moving member which is driven to move up and down in a hoistway. The guide rails each have a rail support member, and a guide portion that is fixedly secured to the rail support member for guiding the vertical moving member while being in contact with the contact member. A minute concave portion and a minute convex portion are formed on a contact surface of the guide portion facing the contact member. The convex portion is provided with a pressed surface which is made smooth by placing a pressing member into pressed abutment with the contact surface thereby to plastically deform a material of the guide portion. As a result, it is possible to prevent trouble such as for example wear of the contact member, etc.
