Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a cap for a container tube.
  • caps for closing tubes, usually cylindrical, which in transverse cross-section have a substantially upside- down U shape structure, with an inside diameter that slightly exceeds the outside diameter of the tube, and which are therefore adapted to be positioned at the free end of the tube in order to temporarily close it.
  • connection and the stable closing between the cap and the tube is obtained by using a plurality of staples, which can be inserted transversely to the side walls of the cap and of the tube and/or by way of for example an adhesive band with a wired tape adapted to reinforce the rim of the tube.
  • the cap owing to its weak structure, does not ensure an adequate level of protection for the ends of the tube which, if pressure is applied on the upper surface of the cap, will be deformed.
  • a further drawback consists in that the structure of the cap and of the tube require one to make a connection between the cap and the tube which entails the superimposition of a series of reinforced adhesive bands.
  • the aim of the present invention is to eliminate the above mentioned drawbacks, by providing a cap for tubes that has a structure that makes it possible to achieve a correct and stable connection to a tube, while simultaneously protecting the free ends of that tube from possible deformations.
  • an object of the present invention is to obtain a cap that ensures a simple and rapid connection with the tube.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a cap that allows a simple and direct application thereon of labels bearing barcodes.
  • Another object is to provide a cap that is structurally simple and low cost and can be made with the usual conventional systems.
