Definitions
- the invention relates to a sealing device for an edge joint between a panel of a drywall and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. Furthermore, the invention relates to a drywall with at least one panel and at least one such sealing device.
- Edge joints are designed to ensure sound decoupling of the drywall from adjacent walls, ceilings or floors, especially floors.
- the wall surfaces of drywall walls are formed by sheathing elements such as plasterboard, which often require protection from moisture.
- the edge joints therefore also form a barrier that protects the sheathing elements from rising moisture, for example, in the event of a pipe burst.
- edge joints are usually filled with a sealant to provide sound and fire protection and to seal the joint against air and odors.
- Sealants have the disadvantage that their application is time-consuming and not very ergonomic. Furthermore, sealants can generally only be used reliably at temperatures of at least 5 °C, and the substrate must be dry. Inspection is also challenging, as, for example, the installation depth cannot be verified non-destructively.
- US 2017/328057 A1 discloses a generic sealing device.
- the object of the invention is to provide a sealing device for an edge joint of a drywall, which ensures simple installation of the sealing device and effective sealing of the edge joint.
- a sealing device for an edge joint between a panel of a drywall and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling comprising a one-piece base body.
- the base body has a support section that provides a support for the peripheral side. of the paneling part, a contact section extending from the support section and projecting in a first direction at an angle relative to the support section for contacting an edge of an end face of the paneling part, and a sealing section extending from the support section and extending away from the support section.
- the sealing section has two spaced-apart webs that bridge the edge joint.
- the support section and the contact section ensure that the sealing device is precisely aligned with the paneling, while the webs of the sealing section seal and close an edge joint with a specified width. This effectively protects the paneling from moisture from an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. Furthermore, the webs of the sealing section form two functionally connected sealing layers in series along the joint depth, thus providing a particularly effective seal.
- the contact section and one of the webs lie in one plane, whereby the sealing device can be designed to be particularly compact and stable.
- a web extends from each of the opposite ends of the support section, viewed in cross-section.
- the webs extend away from the support section at the opposite ends, so that the distance between the webs is particularly wide.
- the sealing section has a seal that is present between the webs.
- the seal is in an unloaded state from a space formed between the webs of the sealing section.
- the seal for example, merges integrally into the webs or is made of a different material than the webs.
- This design gives the sealing device a third sealing level arranged between the two webs. This improves the sealing effect of the sealing device without increasing the space required for the sealing device.
- the sealing section has an intumescent seal located between the webs. This provides special protection for the intumescent seal, preventing damage to the intumescent seal, particularly during logistics or assembly. This ensures a particularly reliable sealing effect, in particular over the entire length of the sealing device and thus over the entire length of the edge joint.
- At least one of the webs branches off in a V-shaped cross-section near a free end to form a sealing lip.
- the sealing lip provides an additional sealing level.
- the sealing lip can be designed to have a particularly high sealing effect, particularly due to its shape and/or material.
- the contact section can form a U-shaped clamp section at its free end, viewed in cross-section, which is open toward the webs.
- the clamp section is designed to allow the sealing device to be attached to a mounting rail provided by the customer. This allows the sealing device to be installed quickly, reliably, and in a defined manner without the need for additional fastening devices.
- the sealing device in particular the base body, can be an H-profile, in which the support section forms the central web, two webs form the sealing section, and two opposing webs form the contact section.
- the paneling part can be accommodated between the webs of the contact section. This has the advantage that the sealing device is reliably aligned in a defined manner with the paneling part.
- At least one of the webs of the contact section extends outward toward its free end to form an insertion bevel for the paneling part, and/or that the two webs of the contact section extend toward each other and away from each other in sections in the region of their free end to form a clamping zone for the paneling part.
- the sealing device can be pushed onto and/or fastened to the paneling part with little effort, in particular without tools and without fasteners.
- the sealing device in particular the base body, is an H-profile, in which the support section forms the central web, at least two webs form the sealing section, and an oppositely extending web forms the contact section.
- the support section forms the central web
- at least two webs form the sealing section
- an oppositely extending web forms the contact section.
- the sealing device is preferably an extrusion profile, which allows the sealing device to be manufactured with little effort and in any length.
- a drywall wall with at least one paneling part and at least one sealing device according to the invention with the aforementioned advantages is also provided.
- the paneling part rests with its peripheral side on the support section, and the sealing section rests on the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling.
- the edge joint formed between the at least one paneling part and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling can be sealed reliably and with minimal effort by the sealing device.
- the drywall has a sealing device in which the contact section at its free end, viewed in cross section, has a U-shaped clamp section which is open towards the webs, as well as a support rail fastened on site which projects from the floor, wall or ceiling and which is inserted into the clamp section.
- the sealing device in particular the base body, can be an H-profile and the planking part can be inserted between two webs of the contact section.
- a drywall 10 with a planking part 12 (gypsum wall) and a holding rail 14, which is part of a stud construction of the drywall 10, is shown in cross section.
- the support rail 14 is a floor profile that is firmly anchored to the floor 8, for example by means of dowels.
- the planking part 12 is attached to the stud construction at a distance from the floor 8, whereby an edge joint 16 in the form of a floor joint is formed between a peripheral side 18 of the planking part 12 and the floor 8.
- the drywall 10 further comprises a sealing device 20, the structure of which is described below with reference to the Figure 2
- the sealing device 20 is also suitable for sealing the edge joint 16 between the drywall 10 and the ceiling and/or wall.
- the sealing device 20 has a one-piece base body 22 with a flat support section 24, a sealing section 26 comprising a first web 28 and a second web 30 extending at opposite ends of the support section 24 at right angles from the support section 24, and a contact section 32 comprising a third web 34 extending at right angles from the support section 24 opposite the first web 28.
- the first web 28 and the third web 34 are arranged at the same end of the support section 24 and thus lie in one plane.
- the base body 22 has an H-shaped profile that runs over the entire length of the straightening device 20.
- the support section 24 forms a support 36 on its side opposite the sealing section 26, against which the planking part 12 rests with its peripheral side 18 (see Figure 1 ).
- the edge 38 of the inner end face 40 of the planking part 12 adjacent to the peripheral side 18 rests on the third web 34.
- the contact section 32 has a clamp section 42 by means of which the sealing device 20 is fastened to a side cheek 44 of the holding rail 14.
- the clamp section 42 has a U-shaped cross-section which is open at the bottom, whereby the sealing device 20 can be plugged onto the side cheek 44 counter to the vertical direction V.
- the clamp section 42 is designed to be particularly long in the vertical direction V, so that the sealing device 20 can be plugged onto holding rails 14 with side cheeks 44 of different heights and at the same time rests with its sealing section 26 on the floor 8 in order to reliably seal the edge joint 16.
- the clamp section 42 further has an insertion bevel 46 to simplify the attachment of the sealing device 20 to the holding rail 14.
- the first and second webs 28, 30 extend in the installed state (see Figure 1 ) from the support section 24 against the vertical direction V to the base 8 and thus form two sealing planes which are spaced apart from each other in the horizontal direction H.
- the sealing section 26 has a seal 50 with an arcuate profile, which extends between the opposite sides of the two webs 28, 30 of the sealing section 26 and in the unloaded state (see Figure 2 ) protrudes from the space 48 beyond the webs 28, 30.
- the seal 50 lies elastically and under pre-tension flat against the base 8, whereby a particularly high sealing effect is achieved.
- the sealing device 20 is an extruded profile manufactured by 2-component extrusion.
- the sealing device 20 can be used to seal any edge joint 16 formed between a peripheral side 18 of the paneling part 12 and an adjacent floor, an adjacent wall or ceiling.
- the sealing section 26 has a first sealing lip 56 and a second sealing lip 58 which lie tightly against the base 8.
- the bottom ends of the first and second webs 28, 30 in this embodiment each have a V-shaped cross-section which spreads out towards the bottom 8.
- no intumescent strip 52 is provided, but this may also be different.
- the sealing device 20 has, instead of the first sealing lip 56, an intumescent strip 52 which is attached to the first web 28 in a protected manner in the space 48.
- the sealing device 20 has, in addition to a sealing lip 56 on the first web 28, an intumescent strip 52, which is attached to the second web 30 in the space 48. This design protects both the sealing lip 56 and the intumescent strip 52.
- the sealing device 20 has an adhesive strip 60 which is attached to the side of the third web 34 facing the carrier section 24.
- the contact section 32 can additionally be fastened to the paneling part 12 by means of clamps.
- the sealing device 20 can be provided to be attached to the paneling part 12 by means of clamps.
- the adhesive strip 60 can be omitted.
- the adhesive strip 60 can be provided in addition to a fastening device, in particular a clamp section 42.
- the adhesive strip 60 can be used additionally or alternatively for fastening, thereby allowing the sealing device 20 to be used more flexibly.
- the adhesive strip 60 can be provided as a sealing element to seal the gap between the contact section 32 and the edge 38 of the inner end face 40 of the paneling part 12.
- the three webs 28, 30, 62 of the sealing section 26 have the same height in the vertical direction V and form three sealing levels in the horizontal direction H.
- the webs 28, 30, 62 of the sealing section 26 and the support section 24 have a wall thickness that is twice as large as the wall thickness of the contact section 32 or the third web 34.
- the webs 28, 30, 62 of the sealing section 26 and the support section 24 can have any desired wall thickness, in particular a wall thickness that is greater than the wall thickness of the contact section 32 or the third web 34.
- the webs 28, 30, 62 of the sealing section 26 have a higher sealing effect and have improved fire protection properties, so that additional fire protection elements, such as intumescent strips 52, can be dispensed with in the case of low fire protection requirements.
- the support 36 has a width in the horizontal direction H which corresponds to twice the wall thickness of a planking part 12, 64, 66.
- the sealing device 20 can be provided for a drywall 10 that is simply sheathed.
- the support 36 has a width in the horizontal direction H that corresponds to the wall thickness of a sheathing part 12, 64, 66.
- the free ends of the clamping jaws 72 which are bent away from each other, also form an insertion opening 76, which facilitates the attachment of the sealing device 20.
