Abstract
Un controlador (130) en combinación con una válvula de gas (100) operada con un motor paso a paso configurado para variar el caudal de gas para variar el nivel de la operación de calentamiento de un aparato de calentamiento, comprendiendo la combinación del controlador y la válvula de gas operada con un motor paso a paso: un elemento de válvula (106) móvil con relación a una abertura (108) de la válvula en la válvula de gas; una cámara de diafragma principal (102) dispuesta en la válvula de gas, un diafragma principal (104) dispuesto en la cámara de diafragma principal y acoplado al elemento de válvula, estando el diafragma principal configurado para desplazar de forma controlable el elemento de válvula con respecto a la abertura de la válvula en respuesta a cambios en la presión del gas que actúa contra el diafragma principal; un diafragma servo-regulador (110) configurado para regular el flujo de gas a la cámara de diafragma principal que actúa contra el diafragma principal, para ajustar de este modo el elemento de válvula para variar el caudal de gas a través de la abertura de la válvula; un motor paso a paso (120) configurado para moverse de una manera paso a paso para desplazar el diafragma servo-regulador para variar el flujo de gas a la cámara del diafragma, para controlar de ese modo el caudal de gas a través de la abertura de la válvula; caracterizado por: un sensor de posición (160) del motor paso a paso configurado para detectar los movimientos paso a paso del motor paso a paso; teniendo el controlador (130) un conector de entrada configurado para recibir una señal de entrada que indica un nivel específico de funcionamiento de calentamiento; y un microprocesador (122) en comunicación con el sensor de posición del motor paso a paso y el conector de entrada, estando el microprocesador configurado para detectar la presencia de una señal de entrada que es indicativa de un nivel de capacidad de funcionamiento deseado en el que opera el aparato de calentamiento variable, incluyendo el microprocesador una memoria programable codificada con una o más instrucciones operables para determinar el número de pasos que el motor paso a paso debe moverse para desplazar el diafragma servo-regulador para establecer un caudal de gas correspondiente al nivel de capacidad de funcionamiento deseado, generar una señal de control del motor paso a paso que hace que el motor paso a paso se mueva el número determinado de pasos para desplazar el diafragma servo-regulador para establecer el caudal de gas correspondiente al nivel de capacidad de operación deseada, y comparar el número determinado de pasos con el número de pasos del motor paso a paso que se mueve realmente como se detecta mediante el sensor de posición del motor paso a paso, para verificar la posición del motor paso a paso.
