Abstract

Multicoloured effects on uniformly coloured anodized aluminium are produced by separately and successively applying in any order to the surface in any desired or random pattern solutions of potassium permanganate and nitric acid and/or sulphuric acid, washing the surface with water and fixing the effects with a colour fixative. The solutions may be applied from an atomizer device or by brush.
