Abstract
Improvements introduced in machines for the continuous casting of metals in general and, more particularly, of steel, of the kind that comprises a bath of liquid metal from which this metal is injected from the bottom up by means of a nozzle suitably shaped between two refrigerated rotating cylinders with parallel horizontal axes arranged facing each other in the same horizontal plane, so that a product is obtained whose thickness is a function of the separation of the cylinders, characterized by the combination of the following two characteristics: a) the level of the liquid metal bath is located above the plane of the cylinder axes, and d) the cast product is kept in contact with the periphery of the second cylinder at a predetermined angle to the latter, before being separated from it in the cooled.
