Abstract
Method for reactivating in situ an deactivated catalyst bed comprising solid phosphoric acid catalyst, comprising the steps of (a) flooding said catalyst, at a temperature of 40 to 370ºC and pressure of 1 1/3 to 100 atmospheres absolute, with a substantially sulfur-free hydrocarbon reactivating liquid, containing at least 5 weight percent aromatics, and boiling within the range of 40 to 230ºC; (b) removing said reactivating liquid from said catalyst; and (c) repeat the previous steps (a) and (b), at least once.
