Abstract

Perfeccionamientos introducidos en un procedimiento de fermentación, caracterizados porque se esterilizan los depósitos para petróleo en un buque petrolero por medio de agentes químicos tales como beta-propiolactona u óxido de etileno, se carga el buque petrolero con material fermentable en uno o más lugares cerca de los lugares de producción o directamente en ellos, se deja que la fermentación tenga lugar en los espacios de los depósitos del buque, manteniéndose dicha fermentación a la temperatura óptima, normalmente alrededor de 27ºC, con agua de mar en circulación, y se transporta el material fermentado final directamente en el buque hasta su lugar de consumo o ulterior tratamiento.
