Abstract
An improved method for mounting on the valve spindle of a faucet or valve a leather-supporting part of plastic material (this valve spindle also being of plastic material) and said method comprising the steps of forming the valve spindle with an open axial bore in one of its ends to receive therein the stem of the leather-carrying part and with an edge that extends around the open end of the hole; formed of the stem of the leather-carrying part with a circular groove, and inward deformation of the edge of the valve spindle in such a way that, when the stem is located in the hole, the deformed edge is located in the groove so as to allow rotation of the stem relative to the valve body without allowing the stem to be easily removed from the orifice.
