Description

11*71 'β A STROLLER A STROLLER The present invention relates to a new stroller. More specifically the present invention relates to a stroller such that it is possible to attach the seat onto the frame speedily and easily or similarly to dismantle it from the frame for replacement or cleaning. The dismantling and the reassembling according to the invention are very simple such that even an unskilled and unprofessional person, such as a housewife, can perform these activities speedily and efficiently.
The conventional stroller is a lightweight and folding carriage for children composed of a frame of a light metal (such as aluminium), which can be folded, to which a flexible and foldable seat made of fabric, plastic or similar material, is integrally attached.
Over the years, in light of orthopedic considerations of the child's posture and the correct sitting position, strollers began to be manufactured with rigid backs. In all of the strollers currently in use the seat is an integral part of the stroller and is permanently attached to the frame. This is the case both for strollers with rigid backs and for strollers with flexible backs. There are strollers that have a replaceable cover on the seats, but the seat itself can not be replaced and is an integral part of the stroller.
It is well known that children between the ages of 1-3 who are the main users of strollers, often soil the seat with food remains and also with excrements. Often it is necessary to have the seat thoroughly cleaned.
The present invention relates to a stroller whose special feature is a seat that can fully and speedily be dismantled from and reassembled to the frame wherein the seat is made of a fabric or plastic sheet containing a device for dismantling and reassembling to the frame, and of a frame containing a device for dismantling and reassembling to the seat and wherein optionally at the edges of. the sheet there are sleeves into which can be fitted pipes of the frame.
The attachment of the seat to the frame can be accomplished by any accepted and conventional means fo attaching fabric or plastic sheets to metal frames such as snaps, clasps or laces, or any combination thereof.
In the invention's preferred embodiment the detachment and attachment of the seat to the frame is by means of snaps. The "male" (or "female") part of the snap is integrally connected to the appropriate places in the metal frame by welding or any other method.
The corresponding second part, "female" (or "male"), of the snap is attached at the appropriate places to the sheet (hereinafter, the seat) (preferably at the rear part of the seat so as not to be visible and to prevent the child from playing with it). The frame to which the snaps are attached can be any accepted frame of strollers.
The means of connecting the seat to the frame are nailed in the appropriate places at the circumference of the seat, and the seat is joined to the frame also by fitting in the sleeves, sewed at their end, to the ends of the pipes in the seat frame as will be further exemplified.
The seat according to the present invention in its preferred embodiment has a rigid back, thus allowing the child the correct posture. The rigid back is made of pipes of rigid material such as plastic pipes, that are fitted into parallel sleeves located at the back area.
The stroller according to. the invention facilitates changing seats easily and quickly.
The soiled seat can be put into the washing machine and washed after the removal of the rigid pipes at the back area. The present invention also enables one to purchase a single stroller with several seats which can be replaced as often as needed. Moreover, in transferring the stroller from one child to another or from one family to another, it will always appear new because it is also possible to purchase the seat only. It is not necessary to purchase an entire new stroller just because the seat is soiled and worn out. The frame can be used for many years and by many children.
The present invention also relates to the method of attaching and dismantling the seat from the frame in a stroller according to the invention.
The present invention in its preferred embodiment will be illustrated, clarified and exemplified by Figures 1, 2 and 3. These illustrations are in no way meant to limit the scope of the invention but serve only to exemplify and clarify.
Following is a brief description of the figures.
Figure 1 describes the frame of the stroller.
Figure 2 describes a view from above of the rear of the seat when it is spread out.
Figure 3 describes the stroller when the seat is attached to it.
Following is a detailed description of the figures.
Figure 1 describes the stroller frame. According to the invention the frame can be any accepted frame of a stroller to which is integrally attached the "male" (or "female") part of the snaps. The snaps are joined to the appropriate places for connecting with the seat (they are marked on the figure as black spots) both at the upper part of the seat (1) and at its lower part (2).
It should be mentioned again that the method of assembling and dismantling according to the invention is not limited to snaps and can be by any other conventional method such as clasps.
Figure 2 describes the seat of the stroller according to the invention. The figure describes the rear of the seat when it is spread out, when viewed from above. After it has been separated from the stroller the seat can be replaced, laundered and washed. The small circles (3) marked in the figure are the "female" (or "male") snaps and are an integral part of the seat. The view from above in the figure illustrates the area of the back rest (4), the area on which the child sits (5) and the sides (6). The length-wise strips in the back area (4) are parallel sleeves with an opening at the upper external part into which the plastic pipes are fitted, thus lending that part the required rigidity in the back area. Before putting the seat in the washing machine these pipes should be removed from the sleeves.
The short sleeves (7) and (8) that are open at their lower part and closed at the upper part are fitted into the pipes (9) and (10) in the frame (Figure no. 1). The short sleeves (11) and (12) that are open in their upper part and closed in their lower part are fitted into the pipes (13) and (14) in the frame (Figure 1).
The snaps (15) and (16) located at the upper part of the seat sheet are a pair - "male" and "female". Likewise the pair (17) and (18). Each of these pairs can be closed (after the fitting described above) by folding the end backwards. This closure with snaps is done in the rear part of the seat and is not visible from the front view.
The pair of "female" (or "male") snaps (19) and (20) located on the seat are attached to the "male" (or "female") pair of snaps (21) and (22) that are attached to the frame of the stroller (see Figure no. 1). The same attachment repeats itself exactly parallel manner on the other side. Snaps (23) and (24) are attached to (25) and (26). All the attachments mentioned above are not visible to the viewer at the front of the stroller. An additional attachment between the seat and the frame is made at the bottom part of the seat between the frame and the seat by means of a pair of snaps - "male" and "female" - located on the frame (27) [Figure 1] and on the seat (28). Likewise at the other side (29) and (30). This attachment is made at the rear part of the seat and is not visible.
At the lower part of the seat, the sitting area, the seat is joined to the frame by wrapping the "wings" (bulges) of the seat (31) and (32) upon which are located the "female" (or "male") snaps (33) (34) and (35) below the pipe (36) [see Figure 1) and their attachment to the "male" (or "female") snaps (37) (38) and (39) on the frame [Figure 1).
Figure 3 describes the stroller according to the invention after the seat has been attached to it. After the attachment the means by which the attachment is made, is completely invisible from the front of the stroller.
