Description
13%のCO2(99.5%純度、BOC Australia)と87%のN2(>99.99%純度、BOC Australia)の混合物を、マスフローコントローラー(Bronkhurst High-Tech El-Flow)を使用して供給した。ガスを、混合チャンバーを通し、加湿し、その後、焼結されたガラスフリット(glass frit)を介して、大気圧でガラス反応器中に30質量%のアミン溶液を通して散布した。1.7L min-1および300mL、または1.0L min-1および20mLのそれぞれガスの流速および溶液の体積を、利用可能なアミンの量に応じて使用した。排出ガスのCO2含有量を、Horiba VS-3001汎用ガスサンプリングユニットおよびHoriba VA-3000 NDIRマルチガスアナライザーを使用して測定した。流入物および流出物の間のCO2濃度の差を、吸収されたCO2の量を決定するために使用した。加湿器およびアミン溶液を、温度制御された水浴(Techne)中に浸漬することにより、40℃の温度にした。
SetaramのTG-DTA/DSC熱重量アナライザー(Setaram)を、40℃における等温モードで、大気圧で15体積%のCO2および85体積%のN2の大気に曝された場合の水性アミン溶液の質量の増加をモニターするために使用した。このCO2濃度は、石炭火力発電の燃焼排ガスと近いので選択した。2つの別々の等温重量分析(IGA)実験を、アミンの試験溶液の全CO2吸収を決定するために行った。行った第1の実験は、蒸発による質量損失を決定し、第2は、同じ時間CO2に曝された場合の試験溶液の質量増加を決定した。それぞれの実験は、100μLのアルミナるつぼ(Setaram)中の新鮮な100μLの分割量の試験溶液で行った。溶解度の制約が許す限り、試験溶液を、脱イオン水中の30質量%のアミン濃度で作った。全ての化学種はSigma-Aldrichから購入し、さらなる精製なしで使用した。使用した全てのアミンの純度は、入手可能な最も高い純度をいつも選択し、95〜99.5%の範囲であった。
図4は、信頼性のある結果が得られた、試験した全てのアミンの初期吸収速度に対する吸収能力のプロットを示す。灰色の網掛け領域は、0.7以上のモル吸収能力を有するアミンを覆うグラフの領域を表す。網掛け領域内に残っているアミンの能力は、0.7を超えており、初期吸収速度は7×10-5s-1より高い。しかし、これらの能力は、一般的に、これらのpKaに基づいて理論的に予測された領域に入る。図4から、本発明の一実施形態で表されるアルカノールアミンの水性溶液は、高いモル吸収能力と許容されるCO2吸収の初期速度の両方の望ましい組合せを有する。
いくつかのアルカノールアミンのCO2モル吸収能力を、異なるCO2の分圧で試験した。試験したアミンは、2-アミノ-2-メチル-1,3-プロパンジオール(AMPD)-立体障害の第一級アルカノールアミン、3-ピペリジンメタノール-複素式第二級アミン、N,N-ジメチルエタノールアミン-短鎖の第三級アルカノールアミン、およびMEAである。
・反応器を150mLの水性アミン溶液で満たし、40℃の一定温度にした。
・続けて脱気し、CO2を高圧ガス容器から反応器に導入した。CO2を、平衡に達するまで加えた。
・反応器に入ったガスの量を、高圧ガス容器からの質量損失によって決定した。上部の空間におけるガスの量を、ビリアル状態方程式を使用して計算し、ガスの残りが溶液中であると推測した。
