近接離反する方向に移動自在に支持されていると
共に磁気テープから離反する方向に付勢されてい
るヘツドベースと、 このヘツドベースに当接して自らの回転動作に
よりヘツドベースを複数の各モードに対応した各
切換位置まで駆動する切換カムならびにこの切換
カムと共に所定の方向に回転し且つ一部に歯の欠
損部を有する切換ギヤと、 モード切換動作時には前記切換ギヤに回転力を
伝達し且つモード切換動作終了後は前記切換ギヤ
の歯の欠損部と対向し続ける駆動ギヤと、 前記切換ギヤの内方から外周に向かう方向に付
勢されており且つモード切換動作時には前記切換
ギヤに形成されたその外周に沿うガイド面と摺動
すると共にモード切換動作終了時には前記ガイド
面に形成されたロツク用段差に係止されるロツク
部材とを備えたテーププレーヤのモード切換装置
において、 前記切換ギヤのガイド面には、前記ロツク部材
がロツク用段差に係止されている状態にて、ロツ
ク用段差とでロツク部材を挟む位置となる傾斜面
が形成されていることを特徴とするテーププレー
