該可変インピーダンス素子のインピーダンスに応じた電気的パラメータを発生するパラメータ発生手段と、
該電気的パラメータを所定の基準値と比較し、当該比較結果に応じて前記発熱制御手段による通電を制御する通電制御手段と
を備えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。An image forming apparatus comprising: a thermal energy generating means for converting electrical energy into thermal energy; a heat generation control means for controlling generation of the thermal energy by energizing the thermal energy generating means; and a fixing roller for melting a toner image formed on a rotating body based on an image signal by the thermal energy and fixing the toner image onto a recording material,
a variable impedance element having impedance characteristics according to temperature and disposed opposite the fixing roller;
a parameter generating means for generating an electrical parameter according to the impedance of the variable impedance element;
an electric current control means for comparing the electrical parameter with a predetermined reference value and controlling the electric current supplied by the heat generation control means in accordance with the comparison result;
