Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately grasp and control the life span of a tool by detecting as accelerating rate the machining vibration of work piece or a machine main shaft. CONSTITUTION:The output of an accelerating rate detector 1, placed on work piece or a machine main shaft, is input into a calculator 4 through a vibrator 2 and a low-pass filter 3. An over-ride value of a feeding rate is calculated through a standard accelerating rate and a dead zone amplitude adjusting coefficient from a standard accelerating rate setting device 5 and a dead zone setting device 6. The said output, going through an A/D convertor 7 and compared with an output of a counter 10 at a comparing device 9, is input through the counter 10 and a buffer register 11 into a feeding over-ride terminal on a machine tool side to conduct the feeding rate control. Also, it is input into a comparing device 14 to be compared with the output of a marginal accelerating rate setting device 13, and furthermore to be compared with the output of feed over-ride selection switches 16, 18, thus properly lighting on alarm lamps 19, 20 according to the tool abrasion progress.
