Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an outer blade of the electric razor and a method of producing same with higher opening ratio and less thickness which ensures sufficient tensile strength to improve the quality of cutting along with higher durability.
CONSTITUTION: Numerous recesses are formed on a die in such a manner as to be sunk from the surface. Metal material 5 made of solid non-crystal metal is inserted between the surface 2 of the die 1 and a elastic body 4 (e.g. fluoric resin and silicone resin). Heating is made up to a certain temperature, for example about 350°C in the case of iron alloy, in such a manner as not to be crystalized until immediately before the metal is glassified. The metal material under such a condition is placed between the die 1 and the elastic body 4. Then, a pressure is applied on the metal material from above the elastic body to deform thereof according to the shape of the surface 2. After an immediate coolig, the metal material is glassified to form a intermediate processed body of solid non-crystal metal. The bottom of the recess 5b is cut off so as to complete an outer blade 6 with numerous beard guide holes 5c.
