Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of head characteristics by bringing the position of the locally heated core body to the rear gap side being not slided with tapes at the time of forming a gap by coupling and integrating a pair of core halves composed of an amorphous alloy. CONSTITUTION:A metallic or glassy gap material 3 composed of a non-magnetic material is interposed as a portion 3 at a thickness corresponding to the gap width on at least one of front gap forming faces 2 of core halves 1A, 1B composed of an amorphous alloy, and a gap material of the same conditions as the portion 3 or a material of properties different from those of said material and higher binding force is provided as a portion 5 on the rear face part 4. A pair of the core halves formed in this way are opposed of thier face parts 2 and 4 and are bonded of their portions 3, 5, after which part of the portion 5 is locally heated by a laser or other at a temperature above the crystallization temperature of the amorphous alloy from the vicinity of the face part 4, whereby both core halves are bonded and integrated. Thereby, the head core may be constituted without degrading its characteristics.
