Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst with superior denitration activity and heat resistance by impregnating a mixed aq. soln. of ferrous and ferric sulfates in production of catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NOx in exhaust gas by supporting iron sulfate on a molding based on calcium silicate.
CONSTITUTION: A molding based on calcium silicate is dipped in a mixed aq. soln. of ferrous and ferric sulfates, and dried to obtain a catalyst for removing NOx in exhaust gas in the presence of a reducing agent such as NH3. The total amt. of the sulfates supported is pref. less than 30% and the amt. of the ferrous sulfate 1W10%. The sulfates may be supported in two steps as follows; the molding is dipped in an aq. soln. of ferrous sulfate, dried, dipped in an aq. soln. of ferric sulfate, and dried
