Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the color encoder suitable for semiconductor circuit integration without requiring adjustment.
CONSTITUTION: The color difference signals S1, S1' are respectively amplified with the transistors Tr1 and Rr1 of common base, and after low impedance is made with Tr2 and Tr2', and they are fed to the pick up circuit with Tr3, Tr3', and the DC potential given at the blanking period can be detected. Tr2, Tr2' are turned on only when the switching pulse is inputted within the blanking period of the color difference signal via the resistors R7, R7' from the terminals P2, P2', and the DC potential is charged in the capacitors C2, C2'. The charges in C2, C2' are held until the next pick up period with the time constant with the input impedance of Tr4, Tr4'. Thus, the signals S1 and S2 are balance-modulated with the carrier signals S2, S2' (phase diference is 90°) based on the DC potential given within the time constant period. After that, the collectors of two differential amplifiers are connected to the same output terminals P3 and P4 and S1, S1' are added and outputted. With this constitution, the balance of the modulator is excellent and no adjustment can be realized and it is suited to circuit integration.
