Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase productivity in manufacture of the sintered ore from sinterring raw material blended with mini-pellets, by drying and dehydrating previously the mini-pellets to a water content of 0W6%.
CONSTITUTION: In manufacture of sintered ore using mini-pellets, usual water content of raw material excepting the mini-pellets is about 5W7%, and that of the mini-pellets is much more higher, e.g., 8W13% level. For this reason, in the sintering process, the mini-pellets show selectively lag in time required for sintering with bad influence upon the sintering, e.g. uneven structure of the sintered ore. Therefore the mini-pellets having been granulated at a water content of 8W13 is dried and dehydrated prior to the blending with the sintering raw material to a water content of 0W6% (pref. 3W6%). Hereby sintered ore of excellent quality is obtained with high productivity, and the coke consumption per unit product is reduced.
