Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the heat-exchanger-tube with uniform circumferential temperature distribution and superior efficiency of heat transmission, by forming many strips of slender fins obliquely against the belt type coiling portion, and by folding up these fins and spirally coiling them around the outer surface of the heat- exchanger-tube.
CONSTITUTION: The thin metallic sheet 11 of high thermal conductivity like aluminum, copper, etc., is passed through the cutter 14 which is provided with the inclined cutting edges 13 on both sides; hereby, the oblique slit 16 centering at the coiling portion 15 is formed, and then, the spine fin 17 is formed. This spine fine 17 is fed into rollers 18 and 19, and is formed into U-type shape, and then, is spirally coiled and attached to the outer surface of the tube 20 which is being rotated and longitudinally fed. The tip of this spine fin 17 forms an acute angle and inclines against the radial direction of the tube 20; therefore, the spine fin 17 cuts into the adjoining spine fin, so that the buckline of the spine fin is prevented, and the flow of air is improved, and then, the reduction of noise becomes possible.
