Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve sharpness of abrasive grains and provide characteristic luster on a machining surface, by heating and melting a solid compound at normal temperatures and firmly extending it on a buffing surface by means of pressurized air flow.
CONSTITUTION: Solid buffing compound V is previously powdered to a grain size of below several mm at normal temperatures and transferred in a pipe 4 by means of an air flow. The powdered buffing compound is interrupted by a filter f and conveyed into a heating pipe 3. Pressurized gas P is then regulated by a solenoid valve 6 and introduced in an injection pipe to be injected through a nozzle. The molten compound is absorbed due to the spraying effect and discharged and atomized together with the gas flow. This atomized buffing compound is delivered to the buffing surface before it is cooled and solidified, then permeates among fibers composing the buff, contacts with air flow while being turned and is cooled and firmly solidified as a buffing wheel.
