Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the designing of the Fresnel lens of less aberrations in the projection optical system which does not require any condensing lens system and higher image quality by theoretically elucidating the aberrations of the Fresnel lens and obtaining their aberration theoretical formulas.
CONSTITUTION: The respective ring-band-form refractive faces 1 cnstituting Fresnel lens are arrayed on the spherical face of a radius r'. The respective aberrations here, that is, spherical aberration S1, comatic aberration S2, meridional field curvature S3,sagittal field curvature S4, distortion S5, average field curvature (S3+S4)/2 and astigmatism (S3-S4)/2 are obtained like formulas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, respectively. Thereupon, the right sides of the respective formulas are made zero, whereby the respective aberrations may be made zero. In this way, the lightweight lens system may be obtained from the lens system of less aberrations and materials of plastics with the simple lens constitution.
