Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a steel plate is gained by successively forming a zinc layer, a manganese layer and a mixed layer of manganese oxide, metal chrome, chrome oxide and hydrated chrome oxide on a surface of the steel plate and is excellent in corrosion resistance, especially in surroundings containing chlorine ions.
CONSTITUTION: A steel plate is soaked in an electroplating bath of zinc, and a zinc plating layer in 3W400g/m2 is made up by plating operation as a cathode. The plate is steeped in the electroplating liquid of manganese, and a manganese plating layer in 5W40g/m2 is built up on the zinc plating layer by similarly electroplating. The steel plate is plating treated in plating liquid consisting of a water solution of chromic acid anhydride and sulfuric acid while using the plate as a cathode, and a layer is formed which employs manganese oxide, metal chrome, chrome oxide and hydrated chrome oxide as the main components in such a manner that the total quantity of chrome that adheres is 5W200g/m2 in metal chrome conversion and manganese oxide is 1W70g/m2 in metal manganese conversion. The steel plate is manufactured which is excellent in corrosion resistance in corrosion surroundings containing chlorine ions.
