Abstract
PURPOSE: In irrigation for a rice field, to save energy in the irrigation work by stopping the water supply by means of a buoyancy or the like, without use of a valve which operates for supply and draining of water, when the designated water level has been reached.
CONSTITUTION: Water 1 passes through a screen 18 into a conduit 2 connected through a joint pipe 17 such as bellows, but is prevented from flowing further because the discharge side of the conduit 2 is held higher than the level of the water 1 by the function of a float valve 7. In irrigation time, the conduit 2 is pushed down as far as the discharge side is stopped by the tip end 5 of a stopper 11 operated by a water level float 15 arranged in the rice field to be lower than the level of the water 1. When the water level in the rice field has been raised to a predetermined level by the irrigation, the float 15 so functions that a pin 4 inserted in the water level adjusting hole 14 of an adjusting rod 13 pushed up the stopper 11, to release the engagement at the tip end 5. Thus, the conduit 2 is returned to its original position by the buoyancy of the float 7, to stop the flow of water.
