Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the forming efficiency at UO-steel tube manufacturing process, by setting the initial set angle of rocker die at a specific value, as well as by controlling the rotaion of the rocker die.
CONSTITUTION: Rocker die 3' is attached to the rocker bracket 2' rotatably, and is equipped with upper and lower shoes 4,5 respectively, and the concerned data are set as: α=58W80°, β=90W100°, β-α=23W35°, wherein α is an angle made by segment lines A'B' and the horizon, β is an angle made by the segment lines O'A' and the horizon, A', B' are the rotation centers of shoes 4,5 respectively, and O' is the rotation center of the rocker die 3'. At the same time, the hydraulic cylinder 12 is installed between the brackets 2' and the die 3', and the rotation of the die 3' which rotates with shaft 18 of the die 3' as fulcrum is controlled. At the U-formation by lowering punch 1 upon the steel plate 6 being placed upon the upper shoe 4 of the die 3', rotation of die 3' is interrupted by the actuation of the cylinder 12, and at the time when the steel plate 6 begins to touch the lower shoe 5, the cylinder 12 is driven and the formation is perfected by giving rotating force to the die 3' as shown in the arrow.
